Perfect example, they get the puck off the US just outside the blueline and whoever it was just chipped it right back in to the US defense. Why? Pass it back to your own d-man and let them set up a transition.

Just stupid.

This is where the Canadians end up squeezing their sticks too much and never get it in gear.

US has a strong forecheck game. Canada needs to force them back.

So I missed the first 5 minutes of the game.. outside the powerplay has Canada had any real time or possession in the other half of the rink (not even trying to go for within offensive zone.. just other side of center)

I think the 1st line for canada has spent more time in their own zone through 25 mins this game than all the other games.

It honestly feels like they have forgotten how to pass the puck. Everything is out of reach or behind. They are really frustrating to watch

This is what happens when you easily cruise to wins every other game of the tournament

I don't know what the ice time looks like between the four lines, but it feels like our coach really leans on the top line. Canada's ability to roll 4 very strong lines is one of our biggest strengths, so he might need to rely less on the top guys.

Canada came out pretty strong early. Shots were 7 -5 in their favour.

Also, the Oilers very lively end boards are no good.

I guess Canada's subpar competition has caught up with them where they're now in a real battle. I personally thought Canada would win this one 7-1, but they've looked a slight step behind the States.

On a side note, I remember watching this tournament 15 years ago and you knew these weren't NHLers. These days the level of play has increased so much. While most of these guys won't make it, the level of play is so much faster and skilled then it was 15 years ago.
