I was actually surprised it wasn’t called right at the time.

It's a dumb rule because Canada gets to play for a while with nothing to lose. If Canada got possession and went down and scored, then they get a goal. If Russia scores, then no goal. It's also a bad rule that only can take away goals, but can't give teams chances back that were lost by erroneous offside calls.

So they are saying in the new NHL season that won't be offside because the skate is in the air hovering over the line?

You think they played like they had “nothing to lose”? And, it restores the time, so they can have completely different chances.

Offside is offside.

So maybe it should be like tennis? You have to challenge within 10 seconds of the offside (yell in the linesman's ear) and risk taking a penalty? It shoudn't have to be a goal that sparks the challenge if you're that confident about it.

“Who remembers this entry!?”

Me a minute earlier: “whoa what? That’s offside, he passed it back out for some reason!”

Cozens is absolutely incredible, strips the puck twice and gets a breakaway. Brilliant

The way Askarov can’t control his stick should have opened him up and slid it 5 hole

Cozens actually had him beaten, just couldn’t lift it a bit higher. He had lots of net.

It looks offside no matter the rule.

That was a nice save.

It was more like Cozens failed to lift the puck. The whole side of the net was available. It was more of a Cozens failure than a great save.

In the NHL once the puck crosses the leading edge of the blue line he would be deemed onside. So he would have been ok there.

Its basically going to eliminate 90% of offside reviews in the NHL I think.

So should we be singing Labarberas praises right now. Did he have any impact on how Levi has played in this tournament? Should we be excited Labarbera is the D2D guy with our goalies?

I want to think so.
