Doesn't sound like he has much of a plan, I hope he knows what he is doing!

Disagree. Barrie did not fit well with TO but he is a top tier offensive D man. If Brodie was passed to bring Barrie in I am more than ok with that

I think it would work out well, I'm not opposed to a Barrie signing

In Colorado Barrie was a stud, I don't think judging him for his 1 season in Toronto is fair. Barrie was far from Toronto's only issue

I am at a loss to understand why in the good holy #### we didn’t match 4X$5. I was so pumped about Markstrom, but now just deflated.

I swear, if they bring back Hamonic at anything over $2 mil per, I am going full Rider fan, and Tre’s neighbour will feel my wrath.

NMC probably sealed it for him for the expansion draft.

I'm honestly a little emotional. I really wanted Brods to be here for his whole career.

As a prospect, he was the single ray of hope for years.

He was so good when he emerged during the first year of the rebuild.

He was that much better the next year. Giordano was our best defenseman, but Brodie was dominant in his own way. Once Gio went down, Brodie carried a pairing with Engelland to shutdown some damn good lines. In the playoffs, is there any question he elevated his play to the level of a number one in Gio's absence?

The next year, he gets injured i preseason and the Flames get off to a horrid start. Brodie comes back afternine or ten games on IR and instantly stabilizes the D core, first on a surprisingly good pairing with Russell and then back to his rightful place beside Gio. He was amazing that year, probably a top ten defenseman in the NHL. I think Gio even called him top five.

Next year was rough. Wideman as his partner, Gulutzan's plodding system. We acquire Stone around the deadline and Brodie starts dominating again. He was our PPQB in the playoffs and that PP was on absolute fire. Another year where Brodie was our best playoff defenseman by a large margin.

The next year, fanbase starts to hate him for turnovers. He had an overrated partner and honestly just poor luck, along with all the Gulutzan issues. Even then, he started to find his game towards the end, only for his season to end on a concussion. I think the 2017-18 Flames make the playoffs if TJ Brodie doesn't get a concussion, the team offense completely dried up without his dynamic puck rushing.

Next year, we win the west with Brodie back on the top pair. Wasn't our D supposed to be worse without Hamilton?? Playoffs, Brodie was our only defenseman who could check MacKinnon. We lost the series, because the Hanifin-Hamonic pairing got their ass handed to them by the Avs' depth players. Brodie was fine.

Brodie has another strong year last year, even after the health scare.

I'm gonna miss this player. To me, he was electrifying just as Gaudreau has been.

Not surprised that the Flames didn't want to give Brodie $20 million and a NMC.

I think we'll see them pursue Barrie on a deal with much shorter term.

And that’s likely what the barrier was with Calgary.

I don’t think they would promise Brodie a NMC or protection in the expansion draft.

You want to protect Hanifin and Andersson, and then if you make another move that brings in a young dman you are handcuffed if Brodie has a NMC

Always a good soldier for the Flames, underrated puck moving ability from D. Best of luck to him.

I wouldn't even say Brodie was underrated by Flames fans given by the reaction here. Solid player, and I hope he does well in Toronto.

He will compliment Morgan Reilly really nicely

At a low cost maybe.
