Mike Smith has been better for the Oilers than he was for the Flames last season but the Oilers play overall better team defense than the Flames as that's the advantage of superior coaching. Throw in the fact that their best two forwards are having outstanding seasons while the Flames top forwards are having off seasons and the Oilers are full marks for being a better team than the Flames this season.

Yeah, no. They get softies in crunch time because refs subconsciously think they are pushing therefore a penalty is coming.
