I'm beginning to believe so.

I think less than linematching it's more about Forward/D combos. On the road they're more mix and match whereas at home Gully/Ward have tended to go all in on some lines and then ""shelter"" other lines when that doean't quite work.

I was scared the Flames would lose. They needed this one. Good win. Exciting game!

Worst team in the league etc. But I thought they put together a pretty complete effort.
Good to see a regulation win that didnt require 6 goals. So that's a step in my mind.
Mighty impressed with Yelesin tonight. Kylington and Hanifin with good games too.
Top line scored a couple 5v5. Another good step in the right direction.
Now onto the circus of D day tomorrow!!

Yelesin is probably as good an option as Bogosian would have been.

Funny how...
Flames sweep Red Wings,
Red Wings sweep Canadiens,
but Canadiens sweep Flames.
Crazy league.

The only thing crazy about that is the Wings sweeping the Habs. That's brutal.

Game Takes:
Flames 4 Wings 2
- Flames jump on the Wings early but then sag
- Andrew Mangiapane saves the night with back to back goals
- good bounce back game for David Rittich

Pretty good game by the Flames overall. We all know that 2 goal leads going into the third period are precarious and they managed to keep Detroit to the outside for the most part. Big credit to Gaudreau-Monahan-Tkachuk who went out after Detroit's 2nd goal and hemmed the Red Wings in their zone for a minute or so.
Ridiculous that the Wings didn't get a high sticking penalty when Rittich's helmet was knocked near the end there. If that hits a players visor then chances are it would have been called, but it took the helmet right off. Great save by Rittich on that 2 on 1 in the third period. Nice to see him back in road form.
They didn't fall into the trap, now it's time to get a bit of revenge on the Bruins and take two points out of the Garden.

It's really amazing to think Mangiapane is just one goal behind Gaudreau at this point in the season.

Game against a historically bad team... Needed 2 points.
Few things. Mangiapane has figured out how to be tenacious. He's a good player.
Hanafin looks WAY better without hamonic. Just like Brodie looks way better without hamonic.
Hamonic frigin stinks, do not want him anywhere on this team.

It is so clear.
It's concerning to me that the Flames have tried to trade Brodie and Hanifin this year, whilst also trying to extend Hamonic at the beginning of the season. If we read into that...it's bad news for us going forward.

Brodie looks better without Hamonic but Stone is still all kinds of bad. Honestly think you could put Brodie with Kylington, or Davidson, or even Yelesin and get better results. Well maybe not Yelesin (just due to him being such an unknown still) but def the other two.
