That goal started with Rittich making a very simple effective pass to a half board D, for an easy breakout. Very nice. That’s how goalies should handle it. Enough to prevent the forecheck, not enough to cause trouble.

I'll take some sketchy work from Kylington, hes going to learn over this season.

Team looks like the weight of the world is off their shoulders right now. Structure looks better. 1st passes are better (other than the Shill8ngton blunders).

D men look better positionally.

Rittich is owning this #1 goalie thing right now.

Derek MacKinnon deserves a raise for finding him.

Still got some kinks to work out but I will take a 1-0 lead. Hope we build on it as the game goes. Nice to see TJ rewarded.

For this team to really get rolling, we need Gaudreau and Giordano to get in on the offence. Seems like everyone else is playing better, but those two is what's holding the team back from really breaking out.

Until then, I guess I'm okay with grinding out low scoring games on the back of Rittich.

Gio was OK so far. I agree he hasn’t been great this year. IMO we may have to get used to a reduced Gio. It’s quite possible last year was his peak. The question will be about how steep the decline is.

Just reaffirms to me that ‘contrarian’ is his journalistic style. Annoying when its negative, but somehow even more unsettling when it’s positive!

Things are going bad overall, so he's happy.

Don't worry, if the Flames go on a winning streak again Francis will go back to his miserable self

Tkachuk is never “quiet” with his puck handling. Always a twist, extra head fake, etc. I like it.

Hahahaha I was picturing him with a top hat! Then again, the promotion to ring leader from clown is too good for him.
