How could you forget about Gulutzan. Now we have Fat Gulutzan staring at the ####ing floor all game just like gully did instead of actually talking to the players or saying something to the ref's when they spot the other team a lead every f$%$%$ game with some lame penalty. Why the hell is he always covering his mouth like he has some big f%^%^% secret. We need Daryl Sutter now to bitch slap these goddam wimps.

I would bench #23 and 13. They can not possibly do any more damage sitting and they are useless out there.
A solid game or two off might open there eyes a bit.

I think the Flames are far from competing with this roster, but it starts from the top-down. Neither Neal nor Lucic are even close to that top.

Bringing in the worst contract in the league sends the wrong message. How many other GM’s in the league thought “hey, we need to take the next step. Let’s take on the Lucic contract”. It is spectacularly stupid.
But I agree our “stars have been dog####, so I take your point there. My point is that Brad made this team worse in the offseason.

Can't wait to hear about a players only meeting where terms like "unacceptable", "embarrassing", etc. Just get out there and do your job. Unfortunately, their current play appears to be a long way from playing well enough to win which will then lead to wins.

Agree to disagree.... people on this board often forget Talbot is the backup goalie.
He stopped at least a handful of shots that nobody would have faulted had they went in. Cross ice one timers, breakaways, 2 on 1s.
He kept them in the game that they had no business being in until he too basically tossed in the towel halfway through the third but up to that point, I felt he was better than what a team would expect of their backup.

Glad I missed this one. Almost made the mistake of watching it afterwards without checking the score. Dodged a bullet there.
If we wind up rebuilding again I hope we don’t try to shortcut it this time.

Also, Gio is over the hill. He got exposed by Colorado in the playoffs last year and it has carried over. Great run, but he’s done.

Feels like they lost their mojo after the all star break and then Colorado killed any belief they had left.

Worst contract in the league?
Edmonton ate money on his contract.
Flames likely get a third rounder out of it.
Everyone said the flames were to soft last year in the playoffs.
Let’s also not forget that Edmonton taking money back allowed us to sign Tkachuk with the roster we had. Without that trade, Brodie was likely gone (rumours from off season).

I don’t care how a goalie performs when the game is lost at no fault of their own... it’s what they do while we are still in it.

The weak ass wrister our oiler plug goalie let in was the 3rd goal. That is entirely on Talbot. We would have been better off with Snith than this grocery stick.

is the team at the bottom yet, or is there further to go?
outside of Tkachuk and Lindholm which forwards are actually playing well?
there's not a lot of help coming Calgary's way via the farm team, so the solution has to come from within the room...

Yes. Worst contract in the league. He is terrible and brings nothing to the table for a team that wants to win anything.

Now I’m convinced your trolling .... 5th on the team in points, plays his heart out, is a great leader....
He can’t win the Norris every year.

Could have been .975 and they still would have lost.

This team is taking the whole “last in the league in January, Stanley Cup Champs in June” strategy waaaaay too far.
P.S. 13 and 23 were invisible for long stretches after the all-star break last year. This year’s woes have little to do with Neal or the Lucic trade.

I said it wasn't his fault but he wasn't great...point being we didn't "waste a great goal tending performance"
