NYI consistently getting .950 SV% is amazing. I keep expecting their goalies to regress but maybe it is not going to happen this year.

Wow, the Islanders are now up to third overall, tied with the Jets. One point ahead of the Leafs.

Would be nice if the Canucks could do us a favor tonight.

Maybe but Trotz' goalie coach that follows him everywhere is amazing.

I can’t see anyone coming close...but stranger things have happened! Given their cap crunch, the window won’t be as wide open subsequent to this season I don’t think.

Yes, I’d like to see the Canuck v. Flames 1st round
Gee this anthem singer is ‘brief’ with his renditions, not holding any of the notes too long. I like it!

Well sure, but how often does the President's Trophy winning team also win the cup?

It's stunning really. I'm sure the Flames being 2nd overall is a surprise to some but THN predicted them to win the Pacific so it's not like some in the media didn't think they would be good. I don't think anyone had the Islanders picked as a playoff team let alone near the top of the conference. Most thought they would be a lottery team.

I get the odds don’t point to it being likely, but they seem so far ahead of everyone else and I can’t see any weaknesses in the roster. When you get entry level players scoring 80+ points to compliment your superstars, then you’re going to be hard to beat.
If they have 70% chance of winning round 1
...and 65% of winning round 2
...and 60% of winning the conference final
...and 55% chance of winning the SCF
Then they only have a 1 in 9 chance of taking the cup, but i’d be putting much money them at 9/1 (subjective chances for illustration purposes only)

They are firing on all cylinders right now, and are clearly the class of the league at the moment. But the Cup won't be hoisted for another 4 months or so.
That is a long time to keep it rolling, and a lot of things can change in that amount of time.
Also, winning 4 playoff series is hard, no matter how good you are.

This Sharks v Canucks game looks just like the Flames game in Vancouver last Saturday.
Markstrom looks fantastic.
