Remember when the Flames, about 5 (probably more) years ago didn’t salute the fans and people (on the internet and not at the game)got up in arms around that? As a STH I was embarrassed for that ridiculous outrage.

Pretty sure Hathaway received the memo as you could read his dejection knowing he had scored as he was hoping Faulk was going to deflect it in his own net therefore crediting the goal to Ryan.

I guess I’ll be the “old man yelling at cloud”...
I completely understand why Lindholm may want to give it to the ‘Canes a bit. And who knows? Maybe people in the crowd were chirping him (almost seemed like he was looking at some specific fan/fans)...
But I don’t like taunting in general, just from a sportsmanship perspective. In general, it’s not a good look for a team (IMO), especially one that hasn’t yet proven anything in the post-season. Take the win, save the gloating for the post game beers.
Anyway. Not something this team does regularly, so, likely an emotional release for him. And he played well, so, I do understanding the “see what you lost?” component.
Okay. I’ll go back to the crew-cut-1950s-football-no-fun-league forum now...

Its a hockey team celebrating a win with their fans...you know in the spirit of enjoying a game. Particularly in a non-traditional market that struggles at times with getting butss in the seats.
The salt seems to be thick from other teams fans about an entertainment product doing things that entertain their customers.
Jeezuz what people get up in arms about is limitless.

Why on earth Canes fans would boo Lindholm during the game makes no sense to me. He didn't demand a trade.
Don't blame Lindholm at all for giving it to the fans afterwards.

They played duck duck goose for God’s sake. There’s celebrating with your fans, and then there’s acting like a bunch of 5 year olds. Sorry, but it’s embarrassing. Just because some people think it’s fun doesn’t mean it’s immune to criticism. I’m sure half the guys on the team are embarrassed by it. I’m thinking this was the idea of their owner.
