Just back from Maui and alot of independent places sell metal straws for 1$ in an attempt to save the Turtles. Jack in the Box is still plastic

A colleague came back with A&W yesterday and they have apparently moved to cardboard straws.

Perhaps its some sort of 'Straw Rapture?'

Plastic straws are disappearing because they've done God's work and are being rewarded while the rest of infidels have to suffer for eternity with significantly inferior paper straws as an atonement for our sins?

What have we done to deserve this horrible punishment??
