My guess is Lindholm signs for 5 years 5.2m per.
Who knows he might push for only a 3 year deal in Hope's he increases his stat value playing with M&G.
Hanifin 4 years 4.25m per. I cant see Hanifin agreeing to anything over 4 being that he is only 21, it's not in his best interest to go beyond that.

No way Hanifin gets 4 years. That takes him to UFA at 25. Treliving will never agree to that IMO. 3 years or 6/7 is much more likely.

Do you guys think these deals will be done prior to July 1 so Tree knows exactly how much cap space he is working with?

5-5.25 x 7 for both

Rarely do they get exactly what they want but if you can get Hanifin on a 7 yr deal at 5m, don't you jump at it?

yeah I think if you can get a 7 year deal with Hanifin for under 5.5m per year, it's a no-brainer.

Hanifin sounds legitimately stoked to play in Calgary. I think we will all be pumped with the contract he signs... I have a feeling it’ll be a good one.

Lindholm I’m not so sure about. But would like to see both players locked in at least 5 years.

Wow. Sign the contract yesterday. Add a year and it'll be a steal by year 2.

I think we need to accept some risk and sign Lindholm to 7 years even at $5.3-$5.5. I think he is going to explode if he plays on the first line.

I think Backlund's deal but with 7 years is perfect for Lindholm.

7 years, 5.35M per.

On the Hanifin front, 7 years has to be the target and if we can get it at 5-5.35M, what a steal!

Think about that Hamilton contract when we signed him. Hanifin and Hamilton have produced identically to this stage of their careers, and Hanifin is a year younger than Hamilton was when Hamilton was going into year 4 of his career. Then toss in inflation due to the cap's increase in the last 3 years.

Hanifin for 7 years at 5.35M is an awesome contract.

My hope is that we have a big ol' introduction press conference on July 5th or so to introduce and announcing the following (where they finally unveil the 3rd jersey):

Elias Lindholm - 7 years, 5.35M per.
Noah Hanifin - 7 years, 5.35M per.
Derek Ryan - 3 years, 3.5M per.

+ additional scoring winger signing

and the biggest news of the day:

Matthew Tkachuk - 8 years, 6.75M per.

I suspect we will be surprised at the reasonableness of the contracts. that's Treliving'
s biggest strength - contract negotiation.

Default The New Flames RFA Contracts (Lindholm and Hanifin)

I saw this posted in another thread:

This is very good news, I think. I also learned that Calle Jarnkrok is Lindholm's cousin.

Didn't Lebrun or someone tweet that they were 700k apart? I guess the length would factor into that. Doesn't sound like it should be too hard to get him signed.

Knowing Treliving they probably are both signed and it will be announced on July 1st to appease the fans on UFA day.

It was Lindholm that was $700k apart from the Canes.

So the canes offered $4.3mm x 6yrs, and wouldn't budge. I am assuming that new owner had a lot to do with that offer.

Assuming things dont change, which they very well may.... the flames now have 12.9M to re-sign their NHL level ( Cap hit) RFAs

Say
Rittich 1 x 800k
Janko 2 x 1.85M
Kulak 2 x 1M

That leaves 9.25 for Lindjolm and Hanifin. Lindholm is the one that will be a UFA sooner so he gets locked up long term.

Lindholm 6 x 5M

Hanifin 3 x 3.75M

That leaves 500k on the cap.

Rather buyout Brouwer or trade Frolik/Stone and lock Hanifin up long term

Agreed. I still see Frolik as being useful at the NHL level so a Brouwer buyout would make sense. Not sure when the second buyout window is.

Edit: looks like its dependent on how many arbitration cases a team has.
