Their defensive issues aren't as much on the blue line as they are with the way a lot of their forwards play in their own end. Its very much the same thing in Calgary.

Yes they need to upgrade the defense core either with a trade or with just giving who they have some more time/experience, (not sure Zaitsev is a top pairing guy at all) but the problem is much deeper rooted. You saw guys leaving their check to chase the puck repeatedly (usually a forward) which then left someone alone in front or in a spot where they could just ease into the open space for great scoring chances.

It's been a clinic by the Bruins though. They have the Leafs so confused as to where the Leafs need to be defensively, its comical.

Weird. I figured that after 2011 every Flames fan was secretly now and forever more a Bruins fan.

Loving this so far, wishing Jarome would have signed there instead of them signing Gionta though

That's the way they have played for the past few seasons. They rely on outscoring their opponent and their goaltender making big saves. Andersen hasn't been on top of his game and it's not easy to score on the Bruins.

Yup, plus in the regular season, Anderson was lights out, making the Leafs look better than they were. Hot goalies can make average teams look great. Then when they cool off, everyone wonders what happened to the team.

The Leafs have some talented young forwards but are a long way from being a contender at this point.

The Leafs are actually a fun experiment for the Great Babcock system.

The Red Wings had a very veteran and very talented roster that played the same system for about forever - of course they were great at it.

Take that system and apply it to another (average) team, and where are we?

Nice little promotion tonight for Tomas Plekanec. He’s really earned it.

The roof at ACC has sprung a leak, we could see a delay just like at the Raptors game a couple of days ago.

The entire Leafs' season has sprung a leak if you ask me.

Maybe all Plekanec needed was to play head-to-head against Marchand to get those competitive juices flowing. He was great tonight and that line of Marleau-Plekanec -Marner looked amazing.

Plekanec seems to know how to get under their skin. Bergeron was chasing him all over the ice.

If Plekanec keeps this up next game and the Leafs can slug out another win these top 4 lines might give the Bruins some trouble.

Marleau-Plekanec-Marner
Johnsson-Kadri-Kapanen

Lol don’t get ahead of yourself. The Bergeron line had all sorts of chances, I guess one decent shift by the Matthews’s line means you got them figured out!

Anderson stole a win tonight.

Unless you are watching through some kind of homer Leafs goggles, Boston still looked like the stronger team tonight

Yeah, just off the top of my head I can think of three instances where Pastrnak probably should have scored but twice was robbed and once hit the post.

Leafs played good but I think Boston was better again tonight.

I don't think Boston looked great. They traded chances with the Leafs all night and that style of hockey plays into the hands of the Leafs.

"LMAO" I feel a lot of people on here have a reading comprehension problem.

Maybe you can re-enroll in your remedial English 101 class and ask your teacher for some help.

Please show me where my post comes across as anything near to what you are implying. My post is fine. You are the one who is the type of "fan" that causes other fan bases to hate you. Toss in a "LOL" and a "Plan the Parade". How original.

This site used to actually have decent hockey talk but it's going downhill fast.

If the Leafs win game 4, then we have a series. If the Leafs do not win game 4, I think it ends in 5 in Boston.

I do not think the Leafs will win game 4.

You're never in trouble until you lose a game on Home Ice.

Its all still up for grabs.

Go Bruins.

Marchand is so good at these accidental/on-purpose plays. He really is an artist.

He just happens to lose an edge and slides right into Johnsson. Then as he is falling his right arm accidentally comes down hard on Johnsson to make sure he goes down.

Of course Jack Edwards remains the utmost professional no matter the situation.
