Why didn't Jarry get a penalty for pushing the net off on Johnny's shot on the PP? He had pushed it off before Johnny even shot the puck.

It's a shame to play 80% of the season to where you're in a great spot for playoffs then suddenly have your top players forget how to score, coinciding with an injury to your starter.

Johnny needs to spend majority of his time during the off-season working on his shot. If he's going to convert on breakaways more, and take shots off the wing on the rush, he needs to be able to get the puck on net.

Meh. He had a large amount of really solid plays. Gio messed up a couple times as well.

Yeah that shot was closer than people think. I think he went for the element of surprise there. Everyone in the building thought he was gonna pass.

Not a great attempt but goalie cost them the game...how can they even play in front of this guy? Firedrill every time the puck goes anywhere near him

Now we know why Crosby asked for one of Johnny's sticks

Has that feel. Hopefully it isn't too late.

There is no way the refs would call a penalty on that. He was in the midst of making a save.

Why not?

I know. I felt I had to point that one out though because that one was a figuratively near fatal hockey giveaway.

I'd probably put more blame on the PP being craptastic for the majority of the season. Even if we had just an average NHL quality PP, we'd very likely be sitting comfortably in a playoff spot right now.

The fact I am reacting like this is pretty dismal to me. My point is that I am becoming as inconsistent in my reactions as the Flames. And I don't like it one bit.

Gillies is so far from ready it's not even funny. One would think watching him in the AHL would have demonstrated that to any Flames personnel that saw him play.

The Lack fiasco, and failing to get a legit backup at the deadline should combine with the Hamonic disaster to cost Trelieving his job.

They rarely call it, but that was certainly intentional. And frankly, the way that play was, he shouldn't get any benefit of the doubt. There was no one around him, he pushed the net off, taking away a scoring chance.

Youre never going to know what you got in a goalie until you throw them into the fire. seems like neither Rittich or Gillies are ready yet. But at least we know.

It's an insane firedrill. Shots from 200ft have a chance on this guy. He already let one in from centre ice, and he just about one upped that.

I'm pretty sure Lack like Glass and pretty well every ex-Canuck brought in the past two seasons is because the head coach vouched for them.
