Reminds me of the time I got a temp-ban on the forums for being happy he got injured that one time, given he's a piece of garbage human being and his injury would give an NHL opportunity to someone much more deserving.
My thoughts have not changed
haha, shouldn't you get temp-banned for this post too, technically?

Really? I thought it played into suspension length as well. The more you know...

I think with something so ludicrous like this deserves a full season. Knees to the head. Kicks with skate on. Chops at peoples heads with sticks. Biting. Hair pulling. 1 year. GTFO.
I'm basing my guess on the fact that this got 5 games and Neal's a pretty big a-hole in his own right.

If that garnered five games I will be surprised in Burrows gets less than ten. While Neal's actions are careless and arguably deliberate, Burrows's by comparison are indisputably so. Like it was mentioned in a few other posts, there is no recent comparable incident. This is a fairly unique case.

"Arguably deliberate"? Give me a break. Neal's is just as obviously intentional, he knew exactly what he was doing, and that video shows Shanahan agreed - in particular the part about extending his knee. I agree it's a different case, because it was in a scrum, but it's about as close as you get - intentionally kneeing someone in the head when they didn't see it coming and couldn't defend themselves, where the offender has a history and a reputation. The Neal one is probably more dangerous because he's moving quickly. Seems about equal to me.

Neal's knee contacted the head once for 5 games.
How about 5 games per time Burrows' knee contact the head.
15-20? I can't recall how many times he put his knee into the players head.

That Neal knee actually looks more dangerous to me due to the speed involved. Seeing that, I wouldn't be surprised if that's their go-to for a comparable. Burrows probably gets a game or two more because of the malicious looking wind up. 6-8 is my guess.

But still "arguably" deliberate, and fundamentally and unequivocally less obviously so than the Burrows's temper tantrum.

Agreed, insofar as this being the best comparison to what Burrows did, but only because his actions are so far removed from anything in recent memory. I still think that based on the ruling in this case Burrows should be in line for at least ten games.

Not to me. The fact that Hall is on the bottom of a pile and Burrows winds up TWICE to clock him with his knee sets this on another level I think.
