If the GDT is this negative, just imagine what a nightmare the game thread will be.
We may need grief counselors on CP this evening.

Grossmann was absolutely done like dinner when he got here, so no problem with the hate because he was well and truly done and nothing good ever happened when he was on the ice.
That said, Grossmann was at least better than O'Brien when he was in his better days than O'Brien was when he was in his better days. Not good, mind you, but better than SOB.

Wow...a lot of negativity here going into a game against a team that is scuffling!
The 'Hawks are struggling offensively, and Q has gone to the Ultra Line Blender to finds some magic...I haven't seen a Chicago source with probable lines, but, one has reported AA to WING with Schmaltz/Kane
Line 1 (but really line 2) Duclair Toews Debrincat (only Debrincat has been any good lately)
Line 2 (but really Line 1) Anisimov Schmaltz Kane ...With Schmaltz at C and AA at LW for the 1st time this season
From here it is guesswork, as Who knows what the Blender will spit out
Line 3
Hartman Kampf Wingels (lately)
Line 4
Hinostrosa (has bounced up to line 1 often) Bouma Jurco (Could be Sharp at C or LW with Hinostrosa filling the other, if Bouma is a scratch)
Probable forward scratch Sharp (he seems done, it was a nice career)
Defense (this, again has been mix and match)
1st Pair Keith Oesterle
2nd Pair Forsling Kempny (wouldn't be surprised to see Rutta dress for Kempny, although Kempny leads the team in +/-)
3rd Pair Murphy Seabrook (Gustafsson might dress for either, Seabrook has been a slow, turnover machine this year)
Glass has the Net...Rebound control, IMO, is why the guy has been a career minor leaguer...although Forsberg has not been much better.
If you get a chance, look at a shot chart from the Vancouver game from Thursday. The 'Hawk D has been TERRIBLE at denying quality chances.
Also, 'Hawk fans are praying that we get NO power plays...we are far more likely to give up a SHG or a wretched odd man rush against that we are to score a PPG...The other night the 'Nucks got a 2 on 1 against Debrincat, the only man back in a 4 forward set that was caught on the ice when the Vancouver guy came out of the box!
This is NOT the 'Hawks you are used to. 10 of the forwards on the roster weren't on the roster 2 years ago. Only 3 of the D-Men on the active roster were NHL regulars, even last year. And the 2 goalies are rooks with less than 10 career wins COMBINED.
I'll be around to take whatever abuse that my team earns for me...but, THIS Chicago fan recognizes a rebuild "on the fly" with the way the current team is constructed.
Good Luck to you and your guys...catch you at game time.

Any good chirps to recommend, foss? I plan to get very drunk and verbally abusive towards the Hawks players whenever they skate within earshot tonight.

Thanks for the insight into the opposition.
Hopefully this adds some much-needed perspective to the scene around here. Flames are struggling, obviously but the games go on and with them comes the chance for redemption.
I am ready to back the Flames and have fun doing it.
Go Flames Go!

Gaskal...as guys like Debrincat are not even drinking age...you can always go with insults about if his momma knows that they are up past their bedtime...or something similar. Or if the any of the young guys F's up "Rockford is calling you home!" Or wondering aloud whether they shave yet. Age related chirps.
Chirping isn't exactly my strong suit. But you can riff on that, or the fact that they are blowing a 10 year playoff run...

For the love of all that is holy, just f***ing win.
Hawks are struggling just as badly as we are lately. If there's any game where the Flames can start to turn their season around, this is the one. Let's do this.

Until they close out a game they've lead in , I'm not hopeful for the team. The last two losses were utter garbage.
For me, I'm just excited to hear about the underlying numbers and how advanced stats says the flames played well enough.

They're not gonna fire him between now and end of regular season. That ship had sailed in December.
Its pretty clear he's not back if they miss the playoffs.
And if they make it, see how they do and go from there with regards to his future. I think anything less than a second round appearance has a new coach next season for sure. If it's 3rd round or more, then you have to bring him back.

Saad has been such a non factor, I nearly forgot about him...He would start with Kampf/Hartman...but will get shuffled around...Put Wingels for Bouma as C on the 4th.
I would NOT be surprised to see Saad get shopped around for cap relief, even as young as he is.

Question for you guys...do you normally have 8PM starts? Or, are you the 2nd half of a HNIC, or something?
