I had the worst cases of both during grade 12, at different times, and I would take the days of food poisoning (thanks Taco Bell) over strep any time.
As terrible as it is to sit on the can and simultaneously barf into the bathtub, there is no relief from the razor blades in the throat, and the antibiotics suck. Just hydrate with the food poisoning.
