Watched the post game. I know gulutzen is bashed around here, my thoughts are if they play like he teaches, cup contenders!
Look at their record last year when they got it.
Why it took so long this year not sure, but seems like they're there now.
Watching gg press conference, I love his candor and discussion game after game

All this talk about vegas or la. We've barely payed la, not yet at all against vegas. Beat them and we still have a chance at the division. Let's not pigeon hole

Two things:
Equivalent of a six pack of beer (Odell Brewery Fee Fi Fo Fum Triple IPA) coming my way for winning a bet with a local Blues fan

Blues fans in general talking about how banged up their team is right now

Sharks have 3 games at hand and I think you need to put them in the rear view mirror before you start talking about catching the Kings or LV. Winning two in a row is great (parade for Oilers fans) but their next stretch of 10 games needs to be better than 4-4-2.
So strange when they were playing sloppy hockey the top line was lighting it up and now they are playing a better team game the scoring has dried up despite continuing to get plenty of scoring chances. Hutton had something to do with that but there sure has been a lot of goal posts and crossbars as of late.

This.
10 of Calgary's last 11 are vs pacific teams. 4 games left vs Vegas. Technically the division is still wide open.
Not that they won't have to play lights out and have some luck to win it, but it is clearly possible. Hope they can maintain their level of play and improve on the areas that are still lacking, but it's time to be excited about hockey.

Someone might want to show the Oil fans the Blues goalie stats:
Hutton was very good besides kind of snoozing on the winning goal. Stopped Gaudreau on a breakaway, Jankowski when he went around their d.

At some point they are going to have to cement Stajan in the press box. Seems like a great guy, but he's completely lost it. If Hrivik can play PK, you really have to give him a shot at some point. Lazar was also god awful but he'll be replaced by Jagr if he ever gets healthy.

Hutton absolutely stoned Gio on that 2-on-1 near the end, too.

Flames 2 Blues 1
- Smith good on home ice
- Flames start slowly but take the game away in play
- Bennett/Jankowski don't hit scoresheet but dominate
- Sportsnet 360 cut out for me and took away the first 11 minutes of the third period!
Sorry for the delay again guys, another late night with kid's hockey.

In reality it was probably not SN's fault per se. Looks like to me a transponder acted up on the satellite feed and scrambled things up.
Either way though, it was some bad timing though the game was on SN West by that time as well.
