Yikes. Bennett and Hathaway on the wings. I wouldn't enjoy playing against that line!

Up and down flames - tonight we get the up version 4-3 final score.

We get down early but GG reunites Brodano, shifts momentum in the game by berating officials and breaking a few sticks after a horrible call against. In the 3rd he benches the 4th line, calls a crucial timeout in the Leafs zone in the dying seconds, he ditches the Ipad, and gesticulates wildly as he diagrams the game winning goal on a good old fashion coaching board.

Monahan with the winner.

Since the Flames have now suffered back-to-back regulation losses for just the third time this season, I am tempted to wear my jersey for this one.

Based on most of the apocalyptic predictions in this thread I see this as a meaningless gesture on my part.

I'm a closet leaf's fan, as another, lesser, team I cheer for. So I'll be watching this one and only mildly disappointed if/when the Flames lose.

Still hoping for the boys though. GFG.

Steinberg on 960 now saying the team wasn't bag skated yesterday. That goes against most of what I've read from other reporters.

Ya, i think i'm bringing out a jersey tonight too. Need to switch things up, maybe that's what the flames need to find their game !

So I guess the solution is to let Smitty get peppered?

I find this Mike Smith split to be fascinating:
- When facing > 40 shots - 4-1-1, 1.65 GAA, .961 SV%
- When facing <= 40 shots - 8-8-0, 3.21 GAA, .892 SV%

Was probably used to it in his AZ days.

I wonder if part of that is those games, teams are going for a high shot count and shooting from everywhere so they aren't really dangerous.

Don't have a good feeling about this week for the flames. I think the team will go 0-2-1 in the remaining 3 games.

I feel like our eastern/toronto boys have their worst games when they come out here (particularly Brodie and gio). In fact, Brodie might as well not play when the flames are in Detroit.

My prediction is a 6-2 loss, Smith likely being pulled.

Gfg
I don't have a great feeling about tonight's game based on the following:
- First line playing average hockey
- Smith has come back to earth
- Jagr out again
- 4 th line is painfull
- coaching is set/rinse/repeat and unable to adjust in games
- PP is struggling

however,

- I am encouraged to see Hathaway on the third line and reunited with Janko.
- a lot of Ontario players on the Flames roster so a bit of a homecoming

It's funny how people complain about the roller coaster ride this year when the Flames have never had a three game losing streak, and have had two three game winning streaks. Though I admit the 4-2-1 last few games hasn't been fun. And this is a really tough month schedule wise.

I didn't get to watch the whole Philly game, but it didn't seem like an "evisceration" to me. More like a really bad 2 minutes. It was kind of like the Canucks loss, I was at the Dome, where the Flames were the dominant team, I went for a bathroom break and they were down by two when I came back.

I mean, they had double the shots that Philly did.
