This team has underperformed the entire time GG has been here minus the 10 game winning streak. He's lost every game to the Oilers, has a .500 record against the Canucks and has somehow made this defense worse after acquiring a guy that cost a first and two seconds. I don't think I can stomach another loss to the ####ing Oilers so if GG could earn his pay cheque and have this team ready for Saturday that would be very much appreciated.

Everything about this game was terrible except Mike Smith. The consistency isn't there game to game. The bottom six still isn't producing. The special teams still aren't good. A talented defensive group isn't contributing enough on either end of the ice.

Something has to change.

the ONLY goal the Flames scored came from hard work by the 3rd line and a good shot from the 5th dman

how dare the coach put them out there!

I’m not one to be negative after a loss, but that was ugly. Our needs to tighten the screws and our bottom six needs to start producing.

Let’s see something like this:

Bennett - Jankowski - Mangapane

Brouwer - Hrivik - Hathaway

I almost hope it happens so some of you realize the NHL isn't the AHL

I hope the Flames resign Gulutzan to a 20 year contract just to watch some of you guys react.

Why wait for Trotz? You want to eliminate turnovers and implement a system of complete puck possession? and you want a real leader? Darryl Sutter.

Hathaway is 100% ready - and needed - to be a full time NHLer on the flames. Wonder when Tre will pull the plug on one of Stajan or Lazar.

Don't remember the 4th line out there once after the goal. People jumping onto your seem to remember non memory of things that didn't actually happen is a little disturbing to me.
Fair enough, I checked the ice times and obviously I'm incorrect. Maybe the time the 4th line was on the ice just felt longer because of how painful it is to watch them.

We basically got Babcocked. Leafs were very good at clearing their own zone quickly. I would expect a better outcome when we are in their barn next week.

Bad bounce on the first goal that has been a microcosm of Hamomics time as a Flame. The second pairing looked awful all game. The bottom 6 forwards were terrible. It is sad but the third line is all Jagr. They looked lost without him tonight and that is sad. Without Versteeg the 4th line was unplayable. Stajan, Lazar and Freddie are all useless waiver fodder.

The Leafs played a good road game and the Flames looked like a tired team Viking off a long road trip. Brutal game and horrible atomosphere at the Dome.
To be fair, we see the Flames 41 times to their 1. Every Leaf fan was extra charged up tonight as it's the only chance they'll get to cheer for their team this year. They were extra pumped and were business as usual.

The other issue was the Flames gave us nothing to cheer for. Absolutely disgusting and pathetic effort tonight. I've been pretty patient and fair with GG but im starting to sway towards firing him. Why is Brouwer on the PP? Why isn't Stone? You can point to Dave Cameron but ultimately he works for Gulutzan. I just don't get it.

Monahan had, in my opinion, his worst game of the season. Brodie and Hamonic look like they got lobotomies. I really liked Tkachuk and Smith's game tonight. Stone was solid too. Not much else went right tonight.

Burn the tape and get a win against Arizona. We have three teams coming up that we should beat. Hopefully they can go on a roll here.

I hate being the sky is falling type but tonight was kind of a defining game for me.

This team is pretty much exactly what I feared they were - an okay, middle of the pack team that will fight tooth and nail to get that final playoff and get bounced in round one IF they make it. The truth is they aren't really that good. This team is less than the sum of it's parts. They should be better but they're not.

These Flames are quite often unprepared to play, rarely play a solid 60 minutes and are generally not difficult to outwork and/or out-battle. That top 6 group of defensemen is wildly under performing and the coaching staff just cannot or will not adjust. Several good young players have taken major steps backwards in their development and if not for a hot goalie and one good line we'd be a lottery team and we all know that is true.

I have no doubt that we will beat Arizona on Thursday and come out flat as a pancake on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday against our bitter provincial rival. We haven't taken 2 points off the Oilers since we hired Glen Gulutzan and I'll bet 5 bucks and a pack of smokes that it doesn't change anytime soon.

The 4th line on this team is so bad and should be an immediate target to improve.

I agree. The fourth line is there to create energy and build momentum. Whether that be with a big hit, a scrap or a hard working grind it out shift. Right now I feel like they go on the ice and we proceed to spend the next 45 seconds + defending in our own zone.

the depth issues this team has, will not be fixed by game in and game out substitutions of Stajan/Lazar/Hamilton on the 4th line, just like the issues the bottom 4 D seem to be having won't be resolved by swapping in Bartkowski for kulak every now and then.

the coaches need to coach and break up the lines and pairings. the only thing that has worked all year is the first line, the first d-pair (according to the advanced stats) and the starting goalie. Why this team has been so rigid in changing the other lines/pairings doesn't make sense.

Lost to a better team tonight. Some weird bounces and no puck luck. On the plus side, points for our bottom six and the pk did it's job. Bring on the Coyotes on Thursday and get back on the rails.
