I didnt see that coming.

I initially really didnt like PK, I thought he was an arrogant showboater but I think for the most part that was just the hallmark of a young player finding his way in the league and in the meantime hes largely won me over, I'm a big fan of PK, his style wouldnt be my preferred style, but hey, to each their own.

I wonder if Scott's beef with PK has more to do with a lifelong, lowly-paid grinder being somewhat upset at a young star? Interesting either way.
So after the whole league rallies around him, he goes and says that. Any respect I had for him, is gone in the garbage(Just like PK Subban aparently...)

PK is awesome, one of my favourite players.

For some reason I thought the finals started today. Stupid NHL, it is tough to stay interested with the long break.

Yeah when I saw that it didn't start Saturday night, I thought for sure Sunday. But no, let's go for a Monday start. The league sure doesn't do itself any favors.

Yeah, I think PK's struggles to fit in are fairly well documented, it seems as though Scott, as a 'teammate' and I use quote marks on that because I dont know how much they actually played together, I think its pretty obvious what Scott's position is and why, but it kind of reeks of jealousy.

And I say that as someone who initially took time to be convinced by PK but was a huge proponent of 'Scott-Gate'

I think it was delayed because of NBCs other commitments this weekend. Yesterday they had golf and today I think they had golf and NASCAR.

Gold and NASCAR?

Were the Golfers firing drives at the Cars? Because I'd tune in for that!

No,Nascar was on Fox.But yesterday was the biggest day in motorsports,F1 in Monaco,Indy 500 and the longest Nascar race of the year.NBC isn't taking chances, they want to make sure that all 37 people in the USA that will be watching the NHL final round on tv get the opportunity...

NHL just had to wait to make sure they achieved maximum momentum dissipation.

Pesky pesky hype and momentum. You definitely don't want any of that heading into the finals.

Well, the biggest sporting event in North America takes a 2 week break before playing to build hype.

Compared to a once a week schedule.

It could be worse. The NBA finals don't start until June 1 and the semis wrapped up a day after the NHL's did.

I thought the Grey Cup was only a one-week break?

Maybe a bit out there too but I feel like the NHL wanted the weekend games in Nashville.

Playing up the "party" atmosphere with all the celebs that are around is going to help the league's image.

I don't think that's out there at all. Nashville is going to be a madhouse to a higher level of what we typically see in most North American arenas. Any casual fans that tune into those games on the weekend are going to be impressed with the spectacle.

Turns out it's less Scott trying to remain relevant, more ESPN re-using a 2 year old interview:

That is strange that the NBA would take a full week off. The Warriors will have ten days off since they eliminated the Spurs.

I think the extra break is good to allow the players to heal up and provide the best competition possible to decide the champion.
