That's why I said hopefully help them. But yes I don't have much faith in Canucks drafting. That's why I want them to get a top 2 pick so at least if Hischier or Patrick don't work out it would've been the same for every team.

he's got good physical skills, but he's never thought the game very well, that was the biggest concern on draft day. Sure he won some academic rewards, but on the ice he's got a slow brain.

He's a more skilled version of Denis Gauthier.

You know there is a draft lottery right? Finishing 2nd last only guarantees you a top 5 pick. Also just look at the Jets last season who finished 25th but got 2nd overall.

Yes I'm well aware of the lottery. I don't see Arizona passing us so really the best I can hope for is 4th best odds of getting a top 2 pick, but all Canucks fans know we will most likely be picking 5th or 6th.

The Canucks are going to be a terrible team for so long. So many years ahead of watching their top prospects playing over their heads in roles in which they are poorly equipped to succeed. A top line centred by Bo Horvat for the next decade will be a treat.

So the Canucks aren't getting any centers at the draft or FA in the next 10 years? Ok then

Ducks will get #2 I think.

Wildcard is the position you want to be in. Flames are arguably a better road ream and have been all year so it doesn't even set them up too badly.

I mean that's if you can put the race with Edmonton aside and see the larger picture which is playoffs. Ducks will either beat or beat up the Oilers. And likely the flames if they place there.

So, just for giggles I'd predicted (...guessed) the final games for Calgary, Edmonton and Anaheim and had ANA vs SJ at 0 points...

They had 99 to our 96 already, so the point is moot... but this was a big win for Anaheim considering the rest of their schedule

San Jose has been really useless of late. I think they are an older team with a lot of guys who are burning out. Thats the team that's ripe to go out in round one this yeAR.

They seem to be cooling off at the worst time. It feasibly could set up a potential upset on a platter for the Flames if they happen to end up a point or two back of the 3 seed.

Burns is still a beast, but Thornton has taken a huge step back this season from last, and Marleau is still tailing off. The fatigue from a finals trip and a short summer can show well into the following season, maybe more so when some of your top guys are 30+.

The Flames don't need any OOT help.

Do you mean #2 in the division or the conference? The Ducks could play the Oilers in either position as the Oilers could be the wildcard.

Silfverberg scores the GWG midway through the 2nd period and hang on for the 2-1 reg win. Bernier has improved a lot in net for the Ducks as he faced 34 shots in the game. The Sharks were swarming the Ducks in the third period by outshooting them 14-4. Yep, it really is now a 4 horse race for the Pacific Division.

The Capitals finally wake up as they beat the Lightning 5-3. Oshie had a 4 point night, a hat trick and an assist. Some hats were thrown on the ice after he scored the empty net goal. Backstrom also had 4 assists.

The Blues win 3-0 in Arizona. Jake Allen with the 31 save SHUTOUT. Mike Smith was excellent in goal again for the Coyotes, he faced 38 shots and kept the score respectable.

The Hurricanes are hanging in there and slow the Predators momentum with a 4-2 win, Skinner with 2 goals.

The Habs win in the SO over Ottawa and have a 2 point lead on the Sens in the Atlantic Division. Round 2 on Sunday, expect the same thing by going to the SO.

The Leafs and Islanders each get a point as they both lose in OT. It'll be an interesting finish.

Are they burning out or are they saving themselves for the playoffs?

Veterans know that if you burn too much energy in the stretch drive, it's hard to make a deep run.

I'm guessing the Sharks are looking at ANA, EDM and CAL being in a three horse race and thinking "knock yourselves out, boys"
