How hight can the Flames finish....first place in the Pacific? How about the conference? Can a mod set a poll(s) up?
Not sure if you're being serious? Sharks are pretty much running away with the division at this point. No way would the Flames catch them in my opinion. 2nd or 3rd in the Pacific is where we'll realistically finish, provided the Flames can stay consistent down the stretch.

This was never going to happen. If you have paid any attention at all to the Sedins you would know that they have no desire under any circumstances to leave Vancouver. Up until this year they were both honestly convinced that the Canucks were rebuilding, trending upwards, and that they would have another opportunity to play for a Stanley Cup with the team that drafted them.
The Sedins will retire in Vancouver.
A bit of a leap to assume what they are thinking

Aaaand what would you do if you were Willy? Unless instructed otherwise, you are in the last year of your contract and every 2gm losing streak brings rumours of your demise.
You coach for your survival and a future job in this situation.

The Sharks are not running away with the division, the Flames are just 7 points back (same with the Ducks) and the Oilers are 5 back. I really do believe the Sharks are catchable. I don't think the Flames are able to come 1st in the conf. The Wild and Bhawks are 13 and 14 points ahead and have games in hand.

The Sharks are on pace to finish with over 106 points. For the Flames to beat that, they would need to go 15-0-1. 7 points is not a small gap at this point, not when the team has games in hand.
Even if the Sharks faltered a bit to 9-9-0, the Flames would still need to go 12-2-2 or 13-3-0. It would take a miraculous run or epic collapse, and actually a bit of both.

It's amazing how big even a 4 point gap is in a 3 point system. The Flames for instance have all but guaranteed a playoff spot now despite teams behind them looking "not that far away".
The BJs are keeping their GAA down with the excellent play of Bobrovsky in net. He made 20 saves for the SHUTOUT as the BJs beat the Devils 3-0. It's his 2nd straight shutout and has let in 1 goal in the past 3 games.
The Penguins keep pace with the BJs as they beat the Sabres 4-3 in reg time. The Sabres blow a 3-0 lead even though Anders Nillson was terrific in net for Buffalo. The Sabres outshot the Penguins 49-45, that's right, there were 94 shots! Fleury took over in net at the start of the 2nd period as Murray let in 3 goals on 21 shots in the 1st period.
The Wild beat the Sharks 3-1. Parise and Pomminville get on the score sheet after recovering from the mumps. Staal with 2 goals. The Canucks have found some horseshoes as they beat the Ducks 2-1 and great goaltending by 3rd stringer goalie Bachman who faced 44 Ducks shots.
The Blues win 3-0 over the useless Avs. Jake Allen stops all 27 shots for the SHUTOUT. The Blues stop their 5 game losing streak. Eddie Lack responds to his coach's criticism and as he helped the Hurricanes get revenge as they beat the Coyotes 2-1 in reg time.

I think the Sharks will have a minor slump and finish their final 18 with a below 500 record. Don't forget that the Flames were 10 points back of the Ducks at the All Star break and it increased to 12 points for a bit and now they're tied.

Watched quite a bit of that game last night and Megna looked good, lots of jump hit the post there in the third, really great positioning to set himself up for that pass, good release on the shot too. Looks like a solid third liner who will carve out another 200 or so games in the NHL.
It would be hilarious to see the Canucks in the playoffs. It's working, Jim! It's working!!
If they do, it will be interesting that they make the playoffs *after* trading away Burrows (and Hansen), whose loss was supposedly "traumatic" for the team.
What the Canucks pulled off this weekend was so improbable its downright scary, yet so delicious.
Hilarious that former Flames led the way.
