It's only a masker if you're putting stupid amounts of ketchup in. If you can't taste cheese and ketchup at the same time, a hamburger must just blow your mind apart.
Agree with the KD recipe with more butter less milk. I also generally make two packs simultaneously. In previous iterations where I used normal milk and ended up with KD "soup", dipping bread or combining it with chips or any combo never seemed to yield decent results.
I don't mess with KD. If I want to experiment or go gourmet, I make from scratch.
But a madman of a friend suggested combining mixing cooked ground beef to a batch of KD and adding it to nachos. I haven't tried it yet. Theoretically, I could see it being tasty, but KD's cheesiness is a different cheesiness than nachoes.
The same madman of a friend spreads goopy KD between slices of bread and claims it's no different to grilled cheese. I disagree with him.

The best Kraft dinner contains absolutely nothing made by the Kraft corporation what so ever, get Italian pasta, make a bechemal sauce, add fresh grated cheese and sautéed onions and mushrooms then bake in oven for half an hour with a bread crumb topping.
If someone added mushrooms to my KD or any meal I would not be impressed.

I am mostly a traditionalist, only adding hotdogs occasionally.
If there is leftover taco meat, I do like combining that with KD, but I don't consider that KD anymore. It is more of a tomato-less beefaroni, which is awesome.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I love cooking, but anybody suggesting making your own is missing the point in my opinion. It's good because it doesn't taste like real cheese. It's like frozen pizza... it's a unique species entirely.
I'm mainly a purist, but cream always helps when the mood strikes.
Butter
Cheese Whiz
Frank's RedHot
Milk
Ground beef and onion if i'm feeling frisky
If it needs more salt, I just use my own tears from thinking about all my terrible life choices that led me to the point of trying to "spice up" Kraft Dinner.
