He shouldn't roast his 4th line if he doesn't have last change.
Teams would win every trade with Calgary right now. Gulutzan can't even keep it competitive. The Flames have been absolutely smoked the past 3 games.

Why? He can't hold players accountable for staying out too long and getting scored on?
Hockey is about details, not trying hard. And Calgary is not attending to details and it's leading to goals.
People in the game thread were commending Johnny for swearing at himself on the bench. Who cares if he swears at himself. He passed it right to an opposing player while on the power play to lead to a goal. That is not acceptable. Neither is staying out too long on a shift and giving the puck away for the first goal at the end of a good period. Coaches need to be held accountable, so do the players.

I disagree. Rob Tychkowski was pretty brutal towards the Oilers rebuild for a long time.
But I'll leave it at that. Not all that important.

No. He's been pretty hard on oilers management over the years (about the only one). He's just being a little trolly

I agree with holding them accountable. I didn't like the way he mocked the 4th line, "because they've scored so many goals this season".
If he wants to call the team out publicly he should be roasting Brodie, Brouwer, Gio etc

75% of the crap GG is ripped about, is on him and the coaches preparing his players mentally and being ready for games. GG, you need to change what your doing, it's not working and now your essentially blaming yourself in the media... sigh

He said they stayed out too long because sarcastically "they're scoring SO much" (paraphrasing)

Huh. Glad they decided everyone was onside this time. Not a good track record with this...

Certainly not - with Hartley able to get the best out of his best players in that core, and getting them to play for each other, why the heck can't we expect GG to produce at least somewhat comparable results from that group?
Remember the Hartley days when a single Flame gets facewashed and suddenly right there are all 4 other angry Flames on the ice trying to facewash that guy back? It's like a vague memory now.

Oh yeah it was nasty. There was definitely some mean. Not sure if that's a bad thing or not when the team is playing this badly, though. Gulutzan has gone out of his way to be a players coach by all accounts. Clearly that's not working... Or the players will resent him for it. Who knows. It's all rotten so there's probably not much good to go around.

Small derail, but I don't understand sports leagues' infatuation with scores / points in the last minute.

Ferland with just 8 minutes tonight?
Injury still bothering him or did he ride the pine after the first goal? I saw him out there with Monahan and Gaudreau for a shift or two but then don't remember seeing him again.

Definitely true but it's important to note that's the same core that had clearly quit on Hartley last season.

I wonder how much that extra padding on Johnny's gloves is affecting his play?
GG's reference to the league not caring is a reference to the players recognizing the Wideman effect (see: Gaudreau's comically oversized gloves); what else could it be?
