I think it's a bit of both. You could also say that Chiasson is just that big of an anchor. I don't get why he's been glued to Johnny. Hopefully Ferly can get in next game with Johnny.

I think it's funny people are saying Johnny has been poor this season. Has he struggled? Yes. Is he still leading the Flames in ppg? Yes. He's been setting up chances every game and is sportin a low shooting percentage. He's still dangling and he still looks like Johnny but the points just aren't coming.Only thing I would like him to do more of is drive the net as there have been a few occasions where I thought he had a step on someone and he curled back. He is the last player I'm worried about on this team. Monahan looking like a beast is something I've been itching to see this whole year and now he's looking like the young stud we've known the previous 3 seasons. If Mony can keep up this place we will be in a very good place.

The important thing is that we leap to one of those two conclusions as quickly and as possible.
Or, they're both still young players developing and that progress isn't necessarily linear.

Tkachuk with the total jerk move on drawing that hooking penalty in the 1st:
The kid plays like a veteran. So impressive in every facet of the game. I think the most impressive thing about him (as an 18 year old rookie) is how well rounded his game is.

Good game by the flames. All lines were generating chances and the flames did an awesome job just shutting down any attack from the panthers almost all game.
Tkatchuk was awesome. His second assist on the backlund goal was unreal.
I also thought that was one one bouma's best games in over a year.

I was thinking maybe part of the reason the offside rule is the way it is is because they don't want players lifting their leg too high trying to stay on side. Would be a pretty dangerous situation if players started purposely lifting their legs and extending it as far back as they could while crossing the blue line to stay on side.

I'm not sure lifting it high helps anyone stay on side. It would be an awkward movement to lift high while crossing, and it wouldn't help you stay onside

I think Tkachuck is really helping add offence to the Backlund and Frolik line. Both guys have always been solid two way guys, but I don't think either has ever been much of a play maker. From what I see of Tkachuck he's a very good playmaker, and guys like Frolik or Backlund who are smart enough to get in position to get scoring chances are benefitting from having a guy get them the puck in those area's.
Has that line been given a name yet? 3M, they don't play hockey, they play hockey better.

They were both offside so that the calls were legit. My issue is how far after the play should it matter. This was more an issue on the Hamilton goal.

Hey AC! Can you gif Johnny Hockey dishing 5 or crosschecks after finally having enough of the non calls with that brutal crosscheck from behind. I hate that Johnny is having to take things into his own hands physically, we need more of a response from the bigger, grittier guys. I know Hath and Ferly are ot right now but still Engs, Bouma, heck even Gio, we can't let liberaties like these keep happening with little to no response.
