2 things that made my night:

The Flames didn't play quite as well as they did on Friday but beat those no good Nucks like they should've last night.

And Stajan got that goal that he was unfortunate not to get in the 1st game.

Edit: Make it 3 with Hathaway having a great game setting up Matty for that 2nd goal and being a beast in the hitting department.

I think my next jersey will be a Tkachuk jersey. Kid is a stud and a player you win with. He even sounds like a veteran during his interviews.

Hathaway with another monster game. He should never see the press box again. I don't ever recall him having a bad game. Ever. Even if he does, he's earned a little slack.

I didn't realize that the Canucks were just outside the second wild card spot. I thought they were down in Arizona/Colorado range.

they had an okay start to the season (fluked out OT/SO/late 3rd wins despite not leading in games) and just had a 6 game winning streak. They'll neither make the playoffs nor get a really high pick, which is going to help nobody.

If things keep up the way they are going that Jan 14 game against the Oilers will be an important one.

If Gulutzan sits Hathaway again, he deserves to be tied down and kicked in the nuts repeatedly. When we were running around like idiots early in the game, it was his line that settled things down, and he was the one driving it.

And while the Canuck fans were all crying about Ferland and Tkachuk, 2014 Lance Bouma made a major appearance last night as well. That was good to see.

That fourth line was a treat to watch for 2 periods last night. I think that Stajan adds a lot of stability to that line allowing Bouma and Hathaway to aggressively pursue body checks. If they play like they did in the first for the rest of the season, the Flames will be a tough team to play against.

Stajan is overpaid, but he's very very very good at his role. He's an important part of this team.

I think that Bouma has been very good for several games now.

I still don't believe that Hathaway's handling by the coaching staff is performance based for good reason. Are they concerned about how 82 games will impact his effectiveness? He is a little like Ferland, and like Ferland I suspect it will take him some time for him to learn how to manage his type of game over the course of a full season. Who can say? But this might be the rationale the coaches are using in their treatment of Hathaway.
