I truly believe Matthew Phillips can be a player like that at the NHL level after following him more closely this year. He's an exciting prospect, something happens almost every shift he's on the ice, Dave Lowry raves about him and I feel like he could be something special.

As someone who lives in Victoria and has watched Phillips numerous times I can say that Phillips would've made a much bigger impact than Dubios. Phillips is a special player and everytime I watch the royals play (went to 2 games last week) he makes incredible dynamic plays. He is better than many of the players on team Canada. Everytime you leave a Royals game you hear people just raving about Phillips, people here love him and when he gets the puck in space the entire stadium goes crazy. When the Royals play near Calgary I suggest that any flames fan should go watch.

You guys are surprised by this? In general Quebecers identify way more with Quebec than with Canada.

Shouldn't the banners and what not read "Czechia" and not "Czech Republic"?
I mean it's new, so I'd expect a lot of messing it up while talking (or not saying at all even). But in written text, shouldn't it be the official name of the country?

Czechs are going to play 5 players across the blue line everytime Canada tries to bring the puck in for the next 40 minutes.

Dubois looks like a guy who really lacks the passion to be an elite guy. Small sample size obviously.

Well, the Canadians have found their legs. Starting to tilt the ice pretty badly.

Speers' 20th birthday. If he was born two days earlier, he wouldn't be eligible for the tournament.

Lifetime Suspension

As I said the other night, goaltending is a real Problem with Canada in this tournament year after year after year now. Hockey Canada might want to have one of their summits to figure out what the issue is.
