semi-useful tool for evaluation, but you need a lot more. as fancy stats get even fancier corsi% will go the way of +/-.
xGF% is what all the cool kids use these days.

I hear what you are saying about the line matching, but as it stands teams are already putting their top line up against Johnny, especially on the road. And he (and Monahan) are getting victimized for it. Putting him with Backs/Frolik will either help neutralize the opposing top line and give us the match or get Johnny away from them and give him more room to breath.
As for the puck carrying that is a good point, I just trust that Backlund is now a guy who can adjust his style to suit his linemates.
I think your lines could work well too, really I think the Johnny/Money show needs to get split and see what happens.

Yeah lately the Flames have been average when Gio is playing, and basement when he's not. Backlund has also been dragging the Flames up.
When Monahan and Gaudreau are on the ice, the team is all kinds of horrible. When they're not out there, the team is average. Something is up with those two, they are top flight players, but they are absolutely not performing like they can. Brodie is in a similar boat. Bennett and Brouwer are also (unsurprisngly) dragging the team down a bit.

I realize this is a stiff opponent for the Flames but if they lose tonight they are drifting 3 games below .500 and once you get about 5 games below .500 it's very difficult to get back on track.
