5-3 for the Flames. Wideman on for all 3 goals against Kulak back in next game.

Kulak sitting is baffling. He's been by far the most consistently good guy on the back end so far, and he's even dragging Engelland's corpse around while doing it.

I'm expecting this to be Wideman's last game in red though.

So the one consistent positive thing in every period so far has been the defensive and offensive play of Frolik and Backlund. Their chemistry has been undeniably awesome.

Coach decides to break up his one good thing.

I haven't once slammed the coach this year but wtf is this chit?

He can be the #1 when he proves he can be the #1. All three game he's played for Calgary have been dreadful. He needs to be better. You don't just gift somebody icetime because you want them to be better. Right now Johnson gives us the best chance to win.

Kulak made a handful of defensive errors against Carolina and had a terrible game in my opinion. I was expecting Wideman to draw in tonight since the middle of the 3rd period of the Carolina game, so I'm not surprised that he is. I am surprised that he's going to be on the first pairing again. Penciling in a L into the column...

Just when I thought I was out, they'll drag me back in. 6-1 Flames. Wideman with a three point night.

Flames need to get it going soon or else they will be rollin for Nolan.

I just hope they look like they care tonight. That is the starting point towards winning.

Why do people care so much about posted lines on game day skates.

I've never understood this preoccupation. Lines change constantly during the game. Posted lines is one of the most meaningless parts of hockey journalism in my opinion.

How many line combinations did we see even last game?

I just think it's something to chat about between the end of practice and game time.

This season has started off in such a mess I'm not sure what to expect anymore ... I suspect that the flames will lose as the blues will be looking to get back on track but I'm hoping for the best

I've got a bad feeling about this. This is going to be grim.

Yup, don't have a good feeling about today's game.

Maybe Johnson will steal, but I doubt the Flames will play well.

Right move imo having Johnson start. Sure we need Elliot to get some swager back but we don't need him to have a poor game, possibly be cheered off the ice against his old team and have the players take the opening draw with less confidence than whatever is already there.

The lines on paper do not look bad if you forget everything about last year.... I am optimistic. While Backlund and Frolik have been amazing, other lines have not and sometimes it means breaking 1 good pairing to create additional solid pairings. Frolik has the offensive upside to play on that top line... here is to hoping anyway!
