Muzzin is not a better hockey player than Gio.

JBo is an NHL defenseman.

Completely different scenario as Canada is often missing several of the best players in its age group because they've already made the NHL. Give Canada Bennett, Ekblad, Monahan, MacKinnon, Drouin type players at age 18/19 and we win the gold more often than not IMO. Canada is generally hit hardest by losing WJC eligible players to the NHL

This is patently absurd. Of course Bouwmeester is a NHL calibre defenseman. Not only that, he is an excellent option for at least the second pairing on every team in the League.

Jake Muzzin is a much better hockey player than Jay Bouwmeester. Every time I watch the Kings, Muzzin does something well every shift. Strong on the puck and defending the cycle, great puck mover, great entry denial, and actual offensive skills as well. Muzzin is what people think Shea Weber still is. He deserves to be on that team even if I think Giordano and Brodie edge him out. Brodie has always looked uncomfortable on the left side and Giordano didn't have the best year.

J-Bo is the one who does not belong.
