The quality has declined because everyone is so desperate to parrot the same "DURR EDMONTON IS NO GOOD" meme. The high post and views isn't something we should be proud of, it's actually kind of sad 
It's also seeped pretty deeply into the general culture of this forum and shows up way too often in threads that are totally unrelated to the Oilers.

No it isn't. There's a small amount of dated Oilers jokes, but the majority of the content is provided by current Edmonton Oilers events. I feel like you don't understand the magnitude of the Edmonton Oilers inability to play ice hockey at the National Hockey League level.
