Whats interesting is with this, Button feels Parsons is Calgary's top prospect. We might have ourselves a "steal". With the Flames jumping on the pick and being surprised he was available at 54.
I love his ability to battle and his unorthodox style.

I rarely agree with Button but I totally agree with him on this. I think Parsons is the best goalie prospect in hockey actually.

I don't know if I would have Gillies in the Flames top 5, but props to Button for having Fox in there

Man, things must be rough in Oilerville if Griffin Reinhart makes the top 5. If they didn't fall ass-backwards into McDavid that team would be so screwed.

Yes he was injured for a stretch at the beginning of the season.
He also was injured in practice. 2 weeks ago and hasn't played since.

Jealous of Arizona having Keller and Strome both coming up in the next season or two.
They're gonna be just fine down the middle for years.

I honestly don't think Strome will turn into a very good NHLer. Call it a hunch, I just don't see it. He didn't impress me at the WJCs at all.

I dunno, 2.3 PPG or around there has to translate to something.
Plenty of 1-1.5 PPG producers in the CHL that don't pan out, but that's another level of production. I guess we shall see.

I'm not going to get excited about Parsons. I've been let down by every other goaltending prospect that I got excited to see play for the Flames. Enough is enough. If a goalie comes in and plays well for an entire season, then maybe. I may also just wait to see how he does in his 2nd season too.

Kind of sobering though because Gillies isn't doing much better. At least Rittich has been very solid in holding the fort down.

Was Macdonald a Flames prospect? I thought we got him from Detroit or something... now I have to go google
I googled, I was sorta right. Undrafted - played in Detroit.

He's referring to Mason MacDonald, you are thinking of Joey.

This prompted me to check how Joey was doing these days...
Its been a busy season. 883 games played, 477 shutouts and a 91.40 GAA.
