This might interest some of you.

A group of my friends are all turning 50 this year (including Aeneas). We have decided on a number of celebratory events. Included in that, we have rented a luxury suite (#23) for the Flames vs. Oilers “Young Stars” game Sept. 17 @ 7:30 pm in Penticton.

We have room for 16 people, and I don't think our group is big enough to use all 16 spots.

I will open up a stand-by list for the openings we will have. $50.00 will be the ticket fee.

Send me a PM if you want to go on the waiting list (first come, first served). I will know in September how large our group is, and how many CP members we can accommodate. I will reserve the first spot for bc_Chris if he wants it.

AC, myself and BurningYears will all be out there with a couple other friends. You probably won't have space in the box, but would be good to have a beer with some CP Veterans at some point at the game.

Got confirmation that there's no Dinos/Flames game at Winsport following YoungStars. Apparently the dates just didn't quite work out.

Is the roster set and published for the flames prospects and invites this year?

We probably will have more than a few spaces, and I will try to let CP know before Labour Day.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get a little pre game drinks/dinner one night at bad tattoo with the CP crew

The full roster list should be out a couple days before the tournament begins, but we'll probably start to hear names trickle out here and there quite soon.

Oh darn, the Dinos won't be able to run around and throw cheap shots at our prospects because they have chips on their shoulders about how far they made it professionally, this year.

That's too bad.

Probably not a lot of enthusiasm after Gillies getting concussed last year.

Reportedly it was more of a scheduling issue.

Does anyone know if there are any tickets left?

It looks like I will be back in Canada in time for this tournament and was thinking of taking the family camping for a few days.

I have been trying to purchase tickets online but the website continually fails to load the purchase ticket page. Either it means that there are none left or there is an issue with the site. Anyone on the inside?

Also what is the deal with infants at these games? Can I take my 9 month old son and sit on my lap one game so my wife can join? Would he require a ticket? Bad idea?

in past years there hasn't really been an issue getting tickets at the soec the day of the game

for a 9 month old - i believe kids 2 and under can sit on your knee. the one year my buddy brought his little guy and he didn't need a ticket. his son didn't have to sit on his knee either since there were tons of empty seats!

I got the package for all the games but will only be using the tickets for the Friday and Saturday game. Chingas if you come out and want tickets to the Monday game PM me. I'd rather give them to a Flames fan then leave them unoccupied for a Canuck fan to sit in. They are a pair in section 107. Chances are that will be the harder game to get tickets for.

I believe this was confirmed at development camp, but anyways Brendan Burke will be there:
http://lethbridgeherald.com/sports/l...rke-ascending/

Quote:
Prior to last season, few people outside of Peter Anholt would have predicted Brayden Burke would finish the season as the third-leading scorer in the Western Hockey League. The Lethbridge Hurricanes’ general manager’s belief in Burke has been unwavering, but for most of the league his 109-point season was a shock.

It’s also a big part of how the Hurricanes went from a dumpster fire to a hot commodity. With Burke playing top-line minutes for 72 games, the Hurricanes went from 48 points to 94. Tyler Wong, playing on a line with the pass-first Burke, scored 43 goals, a 16-goal improvement from the previous season.

This year, Burke is at training camp with a pedigree, and an NHL camp invite from the Calgary Flames. He leaves on Sept. 15 for the early days of NHL tryouts.

Burke went undrafted – again – before Calgary called but he’s heading to the camp hoping to show he can play with others at that level.

I was going to bring my clubs, but I don't think I'll find the time. Also, space in my car will be at a premium.

Summerland is fun and rarely busy. Not the most challenging, but very fun imo
