What was a 3-0 game for Florida has been turned on it's ear and is now just 2-1 Florida.

It just feels so wrong that the overturned call has such a huge impact on the game.

Fair enough, but will it remain strictly enforced (via challenge or otherwise)? I'm just saying the one inch difference that neither we the fans, nor the on ice officials were ever aware of is going to cost teams......

I guess we'll get used to it, until it changes again....

If the call is right then why does it feel wrong?

Either way people are pissed. If a player was offside and Florida got a series winning goal scored against them then you would be pissed off that you couldn't challenge it.

Great use of the challenge by Capuano to regain momentum on home ice.

Because if you saw how close the offside was, it had absolutely no impact on the play, and it was a technicality, similar to when player's couldn't have even the tiniest inch of their skate blade in the crease if a goal was scored. It's warping the intention of the rule, and the league needs to amend this for next season.

People will hate it if the ruling goes against them and love it if the technicality of the rule helps their team.

I'm watching and saw how close it was.

If that would have went in Floridas favour you would be praising the coach for having the balls to use his challenge there.

It is no different then 100 of other really close offsides that get called by a linesman every playoffs, now there is just some strategy and timing behind it.

I don't like it either way honestly. I always feel bad when a goal is called back when the offside is due to a skate blade being in the air, or if the puck rolled an inch slower than the player's skate and was half a puck length offside. It seems unimportant, but technically it's offside, so they have to call it back.

I especially don't like to see something so finicky in a playoff game where guys are sacrificing so much physically to win. It's counter to the spirit of the game.

I don't see how it's a technicality.
It's either offside or its not.

I'm fine with the reviews. If its offside, its offside. I think theres an unintended consequence though, in that the linesman seem, to me at least, to blow dead more close plays. Ones that in years past they might have let go are now blown dead. More than a few times this season Ive thought a play was close, but onside, and its been whistled down.

WTF is the call there? Hip checking is illegal now?

Is this the first NHL game for these refs?

Looked like clipping to me, Kulikov went to low and almost more of a tackle than a hipcheck.

The officiating is going to cost the Panthers this game. This is some serious bull####.

Officiating in game 3 is so bad that it went back in time and made the Panthers play terribly to lose at home in the series opener.

The penalty on Nelson in the first game is still the worst call of the playoffs.

I think that if the linesman doesn't call it, then the review should only be able to overturn a goal if, in the judgement of the referee, the video-identified offside influenced the goal-scoring play.
