Makes me sick that anyone is mad that this team wins a game.

Again, short of actually quitting on the ice, what would you have had them do?
Oliver Kylington alone was responsible for two breakaways/odd man rushes. Patrick Sieloff only scored because Suter deflects it out of midair. Monahan was done in the first, and we also had Shore, Elson and Shinkaruk on the roster. And the maligned Bollig.
Five AHL players, a useless plug of a forward and a 38 year old goalie who let in what, six goals when he was there two weeks ago?
Short of playing Hiller as the #1C I don't know what else they could have done.

There is No Hockey God.

Yes there is. This wise deity has allowed the Flames to bank all their good karma from hard work and honest effort and it will be converted into puck luck that will allow Johnny, Mony, Sam et al to hoist Stanley in the not too distant future. Count on it!

It's really strange. I haven't even been following the draft this year, that why I honestly don't give a #### where we draft. Just get someone who looks promising and I'll be happy.

That result was a kick in the nuts. Kinda gotta laugh. Flames get a 5th in the jones trade to take on backstrom and he potentially costs them even more. Then again he was god awful earlier on.

I wouldn't mind that happening. It would mean our hated rivals are punished even more. I'm confident that Flames' management will pick a great prospect at #9 if that's what happens. Are people even paying attention to how good the top 10 is in this draft?

Backstrom had an amazing night. Great send off for him!
Seiloff first NHL goal, good for him!
Bollig? Hurt our team all year on the ice, and for the final game hurts us by scoring. Very fitting!
Not trying to embrace a tank, have no issues with an aging vet playing his last game putting on a show or a rookie trying to score.
But Bollig ffs. If it was any other player I would not be mad.
Nice to see Kylington play. One game sample size. Some were impressed by his play. I wasnt. I can definately cut the kid a break though. So so young. In three years from now if he played that way I would still cut him some slack. Needs to get stronger, needs to work on skating backwards. Skating forward he is really good. Lots of potential there. Liked the fact he jumped into the rush a few times. Hard to do in your first NHL game.
I hate Bollig.

Bollig is the new Jackman from 2013.
Nice to end the year with a win. It was a disappointing season but the future looks bright.

21 days of this fight won't be tedious at all.

It goes a long way to show other players in this league what a 1st class organization the Flames are. It will encourage free agents to think of the Flames when considering another place to play.

I'll just take the TSN & CP draft experts consensus.

It makes me sick how the current system makes rational thinkers feel anger when their bottom-dwelling team wins.
But as it stands, I think anger/disappointment is a natural response at the moment.

Is there any poster here who misreads what others say in order to type a grating reply as much as you?
Hockey_Ninja hasn't been following the draft, he wants someone who looks promising. He didn't say he knows who that is, or where they'll be selected. He just wants the Flames to hopefully get a good player out of this draft. What's wrong with that?
Christ almighty.

Not mad at them or even Sieloff or Backstrom.
Just Bollig. The epitome of a player who has not deserved his roster spot all season, yet shows up with a goal in the one - the ONE game we could benefit from him not scoring a goal.

Consider this: In the history of the draft lottery, the #6 ranked team has never won the lottery. #7 and #8 have and 1-5 all have, but #6 hasn't.
Based on the odds, #6 is past due.

Are we seriously going to admonish a Calgary Flame for scoring a goal?
I'm pro-tank as much as the next guy but c'mon!
And I hate Bollig!
Stupid, stupid season...

So next year the Oilers will be ranked #6.
