I still see Hiller as the worst of the 3. Ortio shows some promise. Not convinced he's ready to be our starter at all. But I think he could be our backup next year.

I'm confident that losing won't be accepted with Giordano as the captain. It's not bad luck this team is bottom five. They are a bad team as the try is there but the execution is bad.

I'm curious who has played their last game with the Flames?

I really hope there will be 2 new goalies to start next season. Ortio with others developing in AHL. That is the only solution I will be satisfied with. None of our goalies is ready to be a true No. 1, Ramo the nearest, but health a big issue considering his present injury.

What I find amazing is that, with goalies, fans don't seem to consider development. A young forward joins the team, and people forgive mistakes. With a goalie - if he isn't Vesina from day 1, he's a bum.
Played very well for the most part? You mean two good games?

He's never been great at any level, but he's promising? I'm sorry, I don't follow.

He had an awful, awful game. There's as many of these as there are good games

Speaking of Hiller as a "goalie" is a huge misunderstanding!

What about the 6 games he played last year for the Flames where he was 4-2 in games won? You know where everyone on the forum was praising his game

How about his 2013-14 season with Abby wher he had a 0.926 save %?

This is the kind of 3rd period meltdown that puts a coaching staff in the hotseat. I can't fathom why Hartley had had Jooris and Stajan on the ice with an empty net and has Monahan and Johnny on the bench. Hartley got the result he deserved an empty net goal against.

Hopefully BT fixes this team up before September. JG as of today needs to a top linemate. The Flames need at least one bonafide, if not 2, secondary scorers. A physical top 4 defenseman, and 1 or 2 dependable goalies. Bigger forwards in general that can attempt to take on LAK and ANA. And then, a PP and PK system that works. A tall order, and meanwhile you almost get the sense that you're wasting some of JG's talents.

Hiller gets crapped on for games like this...Orito gets a pass because he has to play more? Sure he played ok early, but the Sens also hit 3 posts and missed easy chances that turned into lucky saves.

A special Screw You to the fan who threw the jersey at the game tonight. He roundly got booed after the 5-4 goal.

We're having a down season, not being in year 8 of a rebuild. Get off the bandwagon and don't come back. Go cheer for Chicago or Washington instead if you can't handle the team struggling for a season.

From what I saw he was actually a Sens fan. He was with a group of them and I saw him give them high fives after.

He then got kicked out.

It was a Senators fan who threw it, supposedly.

Ortio didn't play great but the team was sloppy. Still think that goalie interference review was iffy.

I just wish there was more of a focus on the defensive side of the game. Too many stretch passes been broken up with the puck going the other way into our net. A more balanced approach to the game.

Couldn't tell, it looked like a Flames jersey from my angle. If it was a sens fan, that's stupid for a whole other reason.

Probably seated with or near the dink who wore the Oilers jersey caught on TV.

Like the swallows of Capistrano, Oilers fans are instinctively used to jersey tosses as the calender closes out February.
