Politics at play. No KHLers on Russia's roster. My speculation is they see this is a NHL tournament, not worth their time

So who has first dibs on U23 players, the U23 team or the national team? You have to think that USA would want Gaudreau on their main roster.

Frolik, Gio, Brodie, Monahan, Gaudreau, and perhaps Hamilton, Backlund and Kevin could all end up in this tourney. Basically 1/3 of the entire squad could be suiting up.
Given the slow start the team had to the 2015/16 season, this could be just the tonic (barring any injury of course) to get off to a much better start in 2016/17.
Will be interesting to see how the rosters ultimately develop.
