First off, that has to be one of the worst officiated games I have ever watched, for both teams. Bad calls, missed calls, plain ass stupid calls, that officiating team should be in the WHL ASAP.
Second, when Ramo went down and Hiller had to come in cold, with 3min left and a 5 on 3 I almost turned off the TV. Great, great, job by Hiller in a very tough situation. I thought we were dead and he came up big!
Third, screw you sharks!

Speaking of the standings - remember when the Pacific was the worst division in the NHL? It's getting a lot closer now. Vancouver is only two points away from making the divisions even in terms of # of playoff spots.
Might be easier for Calgary to go for a WC spot instead of #3 in the division.

Who was it that Bennett clocked with the elbow and did they stay in the game? Sometimes the degree of injury tends to play into the NHL decision-making process on supplemental discipline. Regardless, Bennett needs to get the high-hits and high-sticks out of his game.

#Flames Bob Hartley just said "It doesn't look good for Karri Ramo", and added that he won't be in the line-up tomorrow night.

Sheesh - I could have broken things tonight; the cats are in hiding, the dog was looking a bit worried but even my wife caught plays the refs didn't and wondered what was going on.
(I couldn't help but wonder if that whole reffing debacle was somehow related to Wideman, but that might be taking the "Gary Bettman doesn't like the Flames" conspiracy theory to a whole new level....)
Right when there was just under three minutes left I said to my wife "Well, they still have time to give the Sharks another 5-on-3." Boom! Unbelievable.
Good on the boys for sticking it to the Sharks, the Refs and the NHL.

It was a straight elbow to the jaw on a fly by, whether the player stayed in the game or not matters nothing IMO. Even as a Flames fan talking about a Flames player, that's much too dirty to be overlooked.

You can't just blatantly give up on the players, which is what he'd be doing if he left the team playing the stretch drive with only Ortio and Poulin
There is zero reason that the team should be in this position right now based on how weve seen that they can play when they are motivated, none. Their lackluster play and horrible record up to this point is on those players that 'shouldn't be given up on'. The team isn't good enough, are still in the middle of a rebuild and should be treated as such. What shouldnt be ignored is the fact that the only reason they are anywhere near being relevant is because the entire division is going through a phase of crapiness not seen in recent memory. They started out horrible and when the season was on the line and their most important games were at hand, even their two top scorers would rather be out partying then preparing for the games that everyone else thought were must wins.
Management need to continue on the path of asset management and drafting good players, the team isnt built yet and holding on to expiring assets for the sake of 'giving the players a chance' wouldnt accomplish anything.

Yep, gotta call that.
I'm pretty confident that Bennett is going to be a player that likely ends up with a top 5 goal of the year candidate and is also involved in a controversial play or gets suspended most years.
