It's kind of hard to judge what that parents neighbourhood was like. Could be those houses go above and beyond and go full "Walking Dead" effects everywhere. I think that is pretty disturbing. The realism of the store bought Hallowe'en decorations are a lot better than when I was a kid trick or treating 30ish years ago, so it's easy to remember how nobody toned anything down for us, but there was not much to tone down. Everything was so fake looking to begin with. Anyway, I didn't see anything horrific around my neighbourhood. The motion activated stuff is startling for some kids. That's the only thing we saw. Once kids are over a certain age it doesn't phase them. That said, if all of the people in the neighbourhood know each other and maybe this particular kid is easily spooked, autistic, traumatized by seeing real life death, whatever, it's a community. No harm in asking. What exactly motivated the anonymous DB to make it public is curious.
