Putting aside the asinine and pretentious use of a bible quote to make a point, Pylon's fears do have some level of justification given that Liberal policy has pretty much been to funnel money from the prairies into Ontario and Quebec since the day our province came into being and was denied rights to it own national resources. Trudeau can talk about how important Alberta is all he likes. He's got a century of actions to overcome.

Am I the only one who wonders about the supposed legitimacy of a system that awards 100% of the available seats to the party that won 60% of the vote?

Manbridge is obviously a huge Liberal supporter. Can't seem to stay neutral, not very professional. Changing to CTV.

I'll be honest, I was/am hoping for a strong minority government (i.e only need less than 15 votes to win over to legislate). Carte Blanche to a new regime is always a tad unsettling. I voted Liberal, won't matter in my riding but I am glad change is apparently afoot.

That only happens when the party you don't want to win, wins.

They're more balanced but you're not going to avoid the red hype over here on CTV. They're more in awe right now than anything.

It's early yet...but judging from the landslide in Atlantic Canada...Liberals sweep with 60% popular vote...that's crazy.

Also, I think some people in this thread need to reign in their sense of utter disappointment, and Alberta-based anti-liberal sentiment. It's great to have your opinions, but you are also calling a majority of Canadians who have exercised their rights to vote a bunch of morons for choosing a party that doesn't align with yours.

I think we need to be careful with this tonight whichever way the election goes. Let's try to avoid extremes in either direction.

No, it is an election issue.

It's my primary concern for this election. Get rid of this horrible representation system and give us something proportional.

Proportional representation has been discussed at length in Canada for a very long time. The downside of that is it would become almost impossible to form majority governments. In reality, majority governments are needed to run a country.

So, the CBC has just given up on trying to fill time talking about the same 33 ridings over and over and have gone to a taped piece?

It's not that simple. Not only will the Liberal government not care one bit about Alberta except using it as a cash cow, but has literally promised to recklessly spend and then hope it can all be somehow paid for in some magical future.
