I think it depends on what part of the country you are in. Here in Calgary/Vancouver, I would definitely agree with that. Head to the East Coast, and most women at a bar are looking to talk and looking for a good time. Just got back from there, and am married so wasn't interested, but having to tell girls I was married was a routine requirement.

Vancouver is on it's own level for the snobiness of the females. I would think a single guy would have a hard time there unless he had a 1M+ condo in Coal Harbour and a Maseratti to drive in.

It's probably success followed by height, then looks. A guy doesn't have to be Tom Cruise good looking as successful, 6+ plus ft height, and average looks is good enough to nab an attractive lady in any city.

Apparently credit scores can fairly adequately judge people's relationship commitment levels.

Even before we all started working real jobs, I always beat out many of my taller friends. I think the height thing is a deal breaker for some ladies. However, you can do quite well without it, you just have to accept that some girls will have zero interest in you.

Well, I have tremendous credit, and have been with the same person for four years, but am still an incredible commitment-phobe (is that a word), so I'm not sure where I fall in here.

Well I won't do marriage, kids, pets, joint bank accounts, or home ownership because I don't want to put roots down anywhere but maybe that's more to do with not being sure where I want to live in the next five years.

This seems like a general trend within our generation, rube.

Ok, I might by slightly biased but I 'third' speed dating.

I met my wife at Calgary Speed Dating back in 2006. This was one my first forays back into the dating world after my divorce and it was a lot of fun.

Oddly enough we bought the company about 2.5 years later and owned it until 2013. Yes, i know cue Remington shaver jokes - "I liked the shaver so much, I bought the company..."

We had many dating and marriage successes amongst our clients. The vast majority of people had a great time at our events.

www.calgaryspeeddating.com for those who would like to look into it.

I tend to find it hard to find events setup for Males in mid twenties to go to this, the past few events I looked at usually were looking for 30+

I'm interested in trying it though.

I'll vouch for meetup.com. Since joining up in August I've been on several dates with a few different girls, and one now that might go somewhere. And even if you don't hit it off with someone, you can still find people with like minded interests if you want to expand your circle of friends
