San Jose might be a landing spot for Ramo if they are truly moving on from Niemi.
Might be a #1 there or a 1a/1b with Stalock.

Interestingly enough, I wonder if this season has really shot the stock of Flames castoffs through the roof. If you want to win and want players that can help anyone that has been with this group brings a huge amount of character with them.

I don't see too many of those though. Diaz maybe. The Byron discussions will be interesting.

Theres going to be lots of them I think. Next year's camp is going to be amazing because theres a ton of guys knocking on the door.

The Sabres got what the wanted (kind of, they obviously would have preferred McDavid). They can only go up from here.

They got what they bargained for - a guaranteed Eichel (and shot at McDavid). I think their fans were sold on the tank for this year, but I doubt they put up with it next year.

By castoffs I assumed unsigned UFAs. Diaz, Potter, maybe Byron. Who else goes unsigned?

Oh no, I think the important guys get re-signed, but their fill-ins are going to have to go somewhere. Potter is likely gone and Byron being gone wouldnt surprise me much either, but I see him being inked and then dealt later for assets if/when his spot is usurped.

Ferland being waiver eligible means Byron is gone IMO.
Unless they dump Raymond somehow.

Gauging Raymond comments and Colbornes comments on Raymond, I feel like it's not a for sure thing Raymond is back next year. At best, he gets a shot at camp to earn a spot. But it really didn't sound like anything was 100%.
I agree with Byron though, I think he is gone regardless of the Raymond situation, too many other guys chomping at the bit. Plus the potential off season additions.

I was thinking something along the same lines. I just see them attempting to acquire assets in exchange for the guys leaving.

I would take Byron over Raymond/Bollig all day every day.

I'd say Ferland did usurp Byron's spot in the playoffs.
For the last couple of seasons, we've been saying they need a guy who plays like Byron but who's 6 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier than Byron. That guy is Micheal Ferland.

Can someone point me to Colborne's comments about Raymond? I didn't catch that. Thanks!
