It's called a scouting report. What's not to get?
Teams do more preparation for playoff games. They aren't going to change their game depending on if a player is in the line-up or not. But you better believe they'll be aware of a players tendencies and make sure the team knows it too.

No status update on Byron? Sheesh that's some pretty bad all-over body pains.
I'd love to get an update on his progress, he may not be a scorer, but he's a mistake free player I'd love to have to option to ice in this series (or the next should the hockeys gods allow us to make it there)

Meh. I think the only result is that they are happy when the guy isn't in warmup.
I think those guys are practicing because (a) they can and (b) maybe they are close to being in the lineup. You guys read way too much into this stuff.

This is the highest level of hockey in the world. They make plenty of game plans specific to opponent players beyond hockey cliches

"Micheal Ferland, who has been held out of Games 2 and 3, skated on Thursday. He, Drew Shore, Markus Granlund, and Turner Elson donned green jerseys, skating as extras."
Anyone know much about Elson?

I love how things turned around

Not 'turned around' so much as 'evolved'.
Many of us argued that you need the Raymonds and Stajans and Glencrosses and Bolligs in the lineup in order to force the kids to earn a spot instead of handing it to them.
Imagine if we didn't have all those vets, and simply gave the spots to the kids at camp... would Ferland be as good as he is? Granlund? Bennett? Jooris? Bouma? Colborne?
One of the primary reasons that the team has come as far as it has is that there is competition for ice-time. It has to be earned, and players have to buy into the system to get it.
That has been a big contributor to the culture, growth, and success. ANd it sure has been fun to watch!
(Note: this is not directed at you, CroFlames, I am simply expanding on your post)

The Ducks do not care, except that they'd rather he not play. The only thing they do different if Gio plays is have Kesler slash him on the arm several times a shift (instead of slashing Monahan).
The Ducks do not know who Lance Bouma is. They might learn the hard way, but it would currently be next to last on their list for anything to do with a game plan. Or actually last.

Was this post sarcasm?
Of course they care.
Sure, their primary concern is their own lineup. But imagine you're the coach, and the other team dresses a new player that brings a different element. And that new player catches your team off guard. If that happens, you have failed as a coach. Period.
Of course they know who he is. They know every player in the organization and what that player brings to the table. It's their job.

He was awesome this year in the A. Has a knack for scoring timely goals and plays with a strong motor. Think Josh Jooris, except a left wing not a right wing.

They have been working out the appropriate steps for the rearguard's recovery, starting with getting back on the ice early on in the process and working up to where they are now; Giordano has been cleared to take part in full practices, albeit with limited contact.
"The main thing is trying to strengthen it. It's been a while since surgery, they healing has gone really well but you're still pretty vulnerable if you're not strong out there. I've got to get my strength up, get my shot up and take some more contact.
"I've been given the green light to shoot a bit harder and try it out. Now it's just confidence with myself. With that every day it seems to be getting better and better to shoot the puck. It's a nice feeling."
