So that's what watching the Eakins-era Oilers was like...

Let's be thankful that playoff series aren't determined by goal differential, and just move on to game 2.

Sure, but he's not inspiring a tone of confidence. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact he's letting a goal in within 10 minutes of the game starting.

Hiller didn't make any big saves, and the 2nd and 3rd goal certainly were stoppable, even though they were good chances.

Ducks are downright scary. I don't know how we can win this series. I hope we do, but man.... If we beat the Ducks, we will win the cup!

Hopefully our game 1 is the next game in Anaheim. We need to bring some.

You know the Flames had a rough night when the PGT is just crying about the broadcast.

Actually, there's complaining about the broadcast regardless of win or lose. It's pretty warranted sometimes.
Good to see a level headed fan reaction tonight. I'm honestly surprised that our main 3 men haven't fallen apart because even if we take this series the distance and beyond, we may end up forfeiting the next round by nature of the abuse these guys are going to face each game.
Crazy to think that a lot of us (myself included) thought this team had great offensive depth. The playoffs always have a way of exposing poor depth. Looking a little ahead to the off-season, it won't be just about making sure this team has enough bodies, but ones who can step in and contribute. Namely, a reliable 2nd line and the likes of Wotherspoon stepping up.

Disagree with anyone saying Flames need to forget about this game.
They did SO many terrible things. They need to look at a bunch of film and learn from it. Better defense in front of the net. Better puck support. Better goaltending.

Damn, those Ducks are just as big, fast, and nasty in real life as they are on the tube.
Was at the game and I'm really at a loss to come up with anything Calgary did better than Anaheim. The Flames really had no answer.
Did not see what happened to Ferland....anyone care to fill me in?
And Mrs. Ho and I figure there were at least 1,000 empty seats.

Yes, he did. He made a huge save a few minutes into the game. That combined with a Jooris goal and things might have been a bit different. Instead, a missed breakaway and a couple goals later the floodgates opened.
He wasn't unbeatable, but Hiller was ok. I'm far more concerned with the team defense, which was very timid and passive.

The third goal?
When former 50 goal man and Hart trophy winner Corey Perry was allowed to saunter right in front of the net and take his time figuring out where he should put the puck?
That was Hiller's fault?

Surprised and disappointed how Flames got slapped around tonight. It really did look like men vs boys tonight. If it happens again in Game 2 I'd say turn out the lights but if Flames can show some kind of push back it will bode well for when the series shifts here. We always play them better at home but you have to win at least ONE game on the road to win the series. Does anyone here honestly think we can win it though? After tonight it really does look like a David vs Goliath scenario!

Yes.
I said before, they played terrible and lost, they didn't play great and lose.
They can win at home. But they need to win at Anaheim eventually. This is the worst loss of the series, they just need to figure out how to win one on the road.
Plus, the Ducks are good.

I think they can, and the guys in that room think they can.
We've beat Anaheim twice already this year, once quite handily. No need to panic yet.
This team does a great job of not getting too down on themselves. They'll bounce back.

I'm not even close to panicking and Hartley def wont be either. They haven't quit yet and no reason to think they will now - its just that Anaheim looked REALLY dominant tonight. You can't help but think we're up against a juggernaut.
One thing for sure, I never used to give the Ducks a thought (having been there, they don't even really play in what you'd call a "city"), but now I HATE them. If I could I'd put a bounty on Kessler. And Perry!

No way to sugar coat it, that was a beatdown by the Ducks. Flames were outclassed in every faucet of the game. Good thing is, it's only 1 game. Hopefully Hartley has a gameplan to counter on Sunday.
It may simply be too much for the Flames to win this series, but even if they lose, I want the Flames to go down fighting. I'm sure they can play better than what they showed this game.
