Default Canucks recall Baertschi

Glen Marchee? I think he's pretty irrelevant.

If Sven did play, who comes out of that lineup? If Horvat or Vrbata are not able to go.. Sven replaces one of them (which would be a dream).

However, if he was to suit up as a shake-up, deperate as it may be.. who does he replace?

This move makes zero sense unless he replacing someone who is injured.. or is a GTD

I don't really know who he is but according to the twitter of Ben Kuzma (TSN1040) Kennins could come out.

My guess is that Vrbata will move up to play with the Sedins and that Sven will take Vrbata's spot. No idea who would come out

Am I the only one excited about playing against sven in this series? he is pillow'y soft, and this series has been hard hitting. He will cower in fear pretty early, and will probably end up -2.

Vancouver Canucks @VanCanucks
No update from Desjardins on whether or not Baertschi plays. Game time decision. #Canucks

Burrows is probably going to be replaced by Baertschi.

He is not an improvement to anyone currently dressed.

He may become a great hockey player one day, but putting him out there tonight is a high risk, low odds gamble.

As a Flames fan (who always liked Baertschi) I welcome it enthusiastically.

He was pretty terrible this year. Basically one step above Devon Setoguchi (who may actually just have played a bit more physically on the forecheck).

No goals, not even close, a handful of assists, the best one being a pass from his own zone. A complete defensive trainwreck, positionally, physically, IQ-wise. He was behind at least 5 other forwards on Flames call-up rankings IMO.

I don't think he's that great of a physical hockey player, but the reactions here so far are a bit overblown. He could thrive under the pressure, has alot of skill, and if he has a big game, could shift momentum in the series. Odds are low, but this could be the high risk tactic that the Canucks are planning on implementing.

Wow, if he draws in.. what an epic twist and storyline to the series.

I think it's a way for the Canucks to change the conversation. Suddenly no one is talking about Bieksa, Burrows, fines or suspensions.

If I was Vancouver, I'd save his debut for Game 5 and insulate him from the inevitable chorus of boos from the Dome for at least one game.

Kennins did come out and looked to be testing something (doing quick turns) I think after the second period ended. I wonder if he has an ankle or foot problem that once he took his skate off got worse. Would not surprise me if it was him.

He'd probably score and have an impact. Then we will hear all about it from Hughson and the Canucks faithful.

It's just the way things go. We all expect the Flames to be called for a lot of penalties tonight, so it's the perfect time to get Sven in and throw him on the powerplay. He pots one and the "Legend of Sven" can begin.

Never earned, always given. That's the Vancouver motto. There is no population in the world that is made up of a larger group of self entitled brats (from the million dollar babies from China to the union powered "working" class). Sven fits right in.
