First we get annihilated by some college kids in North Dakota, and now we're losing to some freakin curlers? This is the most public yet of our many humiliations.

Perhaps the system doesn't actually register any votes other than the first from an IP.
It may say it does but it might filter it out on IP address.

If TSN were as good at monitoring a twitter feed before going to air as they are at fixing a vote for a predetermined outcome ...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there is a flood filter on.
But what is bizarre is the thought that that many people were voting for Gushue when we suddenly took the lead. Oh well.

If you curled, even at a semi competitive level, you would not say that. Sure in the 60s that might have been true, but take a look at the guys who are at the Brier this year. Have a look at the most recent Olympic gold medalists. The vast majority of these guys and girls are in fantastic shape.

Try playing a game. Throw 20 rocks and sweep 60 more. Then play another game in the same day. Obviously it's not as physical as hockey or football, but you'd be surprised at how much effort is required and fitness it takes to be good at it. Or you could continue to throw out badly inaccurate statements.

You mean where a huge majority of voters are right now, being that the Brier is in Calgary? Great thinking.

I'm going to guess the vast majority of votes for Schlemko came from Calgary. Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto hockey fans might not want the Flames to get any recognition from this and would vote against Calgary. I've seen the votes we've done here against other people and/or teams. Meanwhile there are a bunch of curling fans watching the game that are voting on their phones, as the screens in the Dome continue to highlight it.

I doubt other fans care who wins the 1v1 on TSN. Maybe if they came across the page they might vote against Calgary but I doubt anyone seeks it out.

Your probably more right that the Brier is a big thing right now. And to be honest as a fan of curling I am ok with that.

Unless there is newfie prodigy who programmed an automatic generated click for that Flash voting page, I think TSN trained their monkey to click on the Gushue button.

For some time it seems a number of us were voting from numerous devices and yet we didn't manage to move the needle AT ALL. It was absolutely fixed.

You could say the same about golf. It takes skill. There is an athletic component.

I have curled. I have golfed. To compare it to pro team sports is apples and oranges.

How does a goal like that lost to a curling shot?
Sorry Squiggs, but no matter how much curling has evolved and become competitive, Schlemko's gino outclasses that curling shot.

It's not even apples to apples.
