On the bright side: - Better gap control - not too many long, errant passes
- Better movement in the offensive zone
On the lesser side: - Two bad defensive lapses STILL end up in the net
- Too much fumbling and overthinking at times with the puck
- Can't hit the net for anything from the blueline (and sometimes from the slot)
I thought the effort was there - more shots (not accurate enough though) - and more focus. Didn't get the result, but good signs overall.

Also guys, he hammered us with his message earlier and has respected the outroar to tone it down.
Let's respect he's learned a lesson and not all pile on when the poor guy dares to post.

Agreed. Raymond/Stajan have been garbage since coming back from injury. I understand trying to let the vets play their way out of this funk, but it can't be argued we were getting much better results with Sven and Ferland in the lineup. How long do they let this streak continue before going back to what was successful before.

Look, this losing skid sucks. Even if they flatline completely the rest of the way I think we can all see what the future has in store for us fans.
Bennett, future player from 2015 1st rounder (higher the pick the more awesomer he'll be...I'm drooling at the thought of Hanifin after watching him lay tonight), Poirier, Sven if he can hit his stride... The glencrosses and Jones' and Bolligs won't be here forever.

Taking a while to get to 5000

We're basically the team that started the season. Didn't start really winning until the injuries started. Much like how we seem to kick it into high gear at the end of the season with all the call ups. Seems like an obvious fix. Or at least one that should be tried.

This is getting concerning. Something is amiss, perhaps the guys are too wrapped up in getting out of a funk and panicking? Or perhaps they're trying too hard and are too stiff to get an early lead but has the opposite effect? Who knows.
One thing is for sure - our boys can't seem to finish lately. At all.

Well you can't waive guys for nothing. You also need a trade partner to dance with so, It could be a little while.

The Flames have 36 points in 35 games. After Dec. 19, 2009 the Oilers had 34 points in 35 games and were 10 points ahead of the last place Hurricanes...The Oilers finished with 62 points, 12 points behind the 2nd last Leafs. Having said that, it's not easy to match the no goodness of the Oilers, and there are a lot more really bad teams in this particular draft year (surprise, surprise ).

On the bright side, Vancouver's only scored 2 goals in the last 11 days (and ok yes they've only played 3 games in that time), but this seems like the perfect opportunity to win a game and bring some confidence back into the room. Not sure why everyone's acting like tomorrow's an automatic 2 points for the Canucks.
(For comparison, the Flames have scored 9 goals in 6 games in that same time frame, and that's playing against a number of goalies who've been on "hot streaks".)

I think it's time for Treleving to ship Raymond and Stajan out, the return doesn't matter. The Flames have proven they're a better hockey team without them in the lineup and at this point they're both doing more harm on the ice than good

Can't keep guys on IR forever either, there was no other choice, take what we have and work with it, were gonna have to mix things up I think, just need that little push over the hump and have the guys coming back start working their tail off.

I hope so!
On the flipside, the Canucks are probably licking their chops watching their wounded rivals limp into town.

Ah tough times for the Flames. This team was bound to go through some growing pains. Lots of players in slumps right now. Losing streaks suck but the Flames will turn this around.

Aren't we under a trade freeze anyway? Seems more sensible to see how results shape up until it lifts.

I think it's a combination of all of those things. But the offence is easily the biggest problem for this team right now. They were much better defensively tonight, but weren't able to capitalize on numerous scoring chances. Gaudreau should have had at least 2 assists tonight with those glorious setups of his. If they had buried even one of those, this game could have easily ended up in the win column. If they can start putting the puck in the net more consistently, I think they'll be ok. But man, are they ever snakebitten right now. It's frustrating as hell to watch.

You can't keep them on It forever but they won't waive assets that have some value either. Amid will return Potter will be sent down. Backlumd returns most likely Jooris will stay( playing better) and Granlund will be sent back down. Basically anyone who does not require waivers this year will always be sent down first. 2nd year of a rebuild with a lot of guys knocking on the door with some expiring contracts this year. Next year is when you'll see more movements by management.
