Certainly there are some who hate. But for most, I think it's about just moving on. Personally I appreciate and respect the history Iginla has created in Calgary, but I'm also not blind enough to acknowledge that his final few years here were greatly underwhelming.
I'll be honest, I'm pretty indifferent now when it comes to Iggy. I won't follow him but I won't unjustifiably bash him either.

its not really a hate, its just that he gets idolized so much he kind of gets overrated... so fans who treat him like any other former/Flame is considered "harsh"
Example : "win a cup for Iggy" doesn't make sense.... it was when he was here, and it it still is... ideas of maybe bringing him back on a retirement contract and stuff like that. It makes no sense..... the only way it makes sense to bring him back is if he performs a role on the team and contributes to a cup, not for him to be eating up a roster spot just so he can "retire a Flame" .... its not only hate, its just logical..... and in this case, I don't see the point in really saying "well I hope we win, but not too much so that Iginla's team doesn't get hurt too much" - its weird. They are a conference rival that, while they are 11 points back, who knows? they could catch us.... I don't want to see them get any momentum or tie breaker or nothing at the expense of the Flames success.

I haven't seen any 'hate' for Iggy. I want him to do great. Just not against us.
Would people rather we hope that Iggy gets a hat trick and his teams shuts us out? That'd be way more ridiculous.

Well last time he was here fans booed when the Flames blocked his open net attempt...not Iggy's fault obviously but that really rubbed me the wrong way.
I will always remember him for the old days but like others have said his last few years kinda tarnished it for me.
half-assed efforts and limiting the teams trade options to one team in the end.
I don't hope he has a career ending injury or anything I just won't be cheering for the guy...honestly he is on his fourth team now my love for him is long gone

Nice try. You were harsh on him all through out his time here. You're one of a handfull of posters here who always put him down any chance you got and had no appreciation for one of our greatest players in franchise players. The fact you're unable to come right out and admit you don't like him speaks for itself.

That is not true. You can be a fan of Iginla. There is nothing wrong with that. But there are supporters of his who are just ignorant, or oblivious to the fact that we had many years with him at the helm (Captaincy) with mediocre results.
Win a cup for Calgary and I will cheer for the player for life.
I just feel this city owes him nothing.
We have had better Captain's & Franchise Players (IMO)

Inevitably, whenever Iggy is brought up, you get the usual suspects declaring their disdain for him and how they don't cheer for him. I guess it's just to make sure we know, in case we missed it the first couple hundred times they've mentioned it.
