Not a good idea. We were sitting in front of a family with a six year old, and she looked terrified after the movie. The movie has a lot of laughs and is great fun, but make no mistake, people still die in horrific ways with blood splattering everywhere. I would not recommend bringing a child to see this movie.
On the side note, I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. JP has some pretty dumb kids, but the kids in this movie were never a hindrance, which was a nice welcome change for once.

Thanks,
We watched the first one which she was at the scared but enjoyed it point. It's sounds like this one is worse so I will see it first and then decide.

I was pleasantly surprised by Jurassic World, after the trailer I honestly had no desire to see it. So my expectations were quite low, but my wife was excited about it so we went.
I'd say it lives up to the original in most ways. Some of the performances were a little flat/hollow, but overall it's enjoyable for what it is. I suspect kids (whatever age is appropriate for such films) will enjoy it as much as adults/parents did the original.
But one thing bugged me about it.
Anways as far as dumb popcorn flicks are concerned, this one's worth seeing, especially if you're a fan of the originals.

I was disappointed with a lot of the CGI, particularly for the raptors.
I guess it just goes to show how outstanding the first movie was.

I laughed out loud at the 'moment of understsanding' between the Trex and Blue. Reminded me of the end of Legends of the Fall after Aidan Quinn shoots the gunman and him and Brad Pitt share a similar moment.
I liked the idea of the ending but it looked horrible and reminded me of crappy Transformer and Superhero movies.

Well at least the T-rex knew its place in that ecosystem. Indominus was basically a psychopath of the JP world, so yeah better off going with the T-rex. By that point in the movie the park was never gonna open again, so might as well get the T-rex to down Indominus to give the rest of the dinos on the island a fighting chance.

Well, looks like we're all but guaranteed sequels now.
Any ideas of where they should go from here?
Do they finally move the series off the islands? You can see why the movie was stuck in development hell for so long, there's only so many ways you can go with it.

it was fun to watch. I got a bit emotional at the beginning when the kids are going thru the gate to the park. took me back 20 years ago, sitting as a kid in a theater in CGY being taken into Jurassic park and being so damn excited (that movie was just so amazing).
The cast was 'meh' for some of the key roles, and i personally didn't enjoy the story having to rely so heavily on the dinosoars being so intelligent. Other than that, it was a fun movie to watch, which i haven't said about a lot of the big blockbuster releases in the past few years.

I give it a 5 out of 10. The ending was cheesy to me and Vicent Doferio's (sp?) character was so over written it made the ending and last half of the movie too predictable.
I enjoyed it as a summer popcorn mix, but i'd put it on par with Lost World (if you stopped Lost World before the T-Rex got back to mainland) in terms of quality of story. Effects are great, suspense is fun, good popcorn flick, but the original will go down in movie history as one of the great action movies ever made. This sequel will not.

Loved it.
Totally lived up to the hype.
I was giggling like a kid due to my excitement for the upcoming fight when they let the Trex out of the pen.

Loved the movie, really great throwbacks to the old movies. I also really like Chris Pratt, so he was awesome. The final fight scene was cheesy, but really fun

Isn't it obvious? They are going to continue to breed and train dinosaurs for war and eventually these warrior dinosaurs will take over the world; however, in an effort to combat this, man will create advanced AI machines to fight the dinosaurs, except these machines kill their human masters and start a massive global war versus the dinosaurs which will be the jurassic park - terminator cross over!
Man shoulda just stayed in his cave.

There was at least one very, very, brutal death. Probably not a great idea.

My 9 and soon to be 7 year old have seen the first three (only first one at home) and want to see this. Are we talking decapitation, severed limbs type of brutality?

here in toronto, there were TONS of little kids in our theater. I was sort of surprised.
There was violence of course (like a dino basically eating a person whole) but it wasn't gruesome, like there wasn't blood, guts, limbs, etc.
I would put it at par with the original film, if memory serves correctly.

I took my 7 and 10 year old boys to it on sunday. They both really liked it. It is a bit on the bloody side with the human deaths but I wouldn't say any more so than the first three. If your kids have seen the first three and were okay with them, I would say that you are probably okay with this one. I was worried about my younger son having nightmares but he's just fine.

No, nothing over the top. Plenty of kids (younger than 9) were in the theatre when I saw it. I'd say it's got a kid friendly amount of violence. Just enough to show that the Dinos are dangerous.
