Why haven't the Flames offered Hartley a contract extension yet?

Myself, I think Hartley is enjoying his job and the enthusiasm rubs off on the team. I hope he re-signs for another 3 years. One option I see for him is if Babcock moves on, Detroit may want him.

I think Hartley is Burke's style of coach as well. He's not soft. Except with the added fitness priority.

I agree with you. They better not #### this up by bringing in one of Burke's cronies. You always try to improve the team with every move you make, but it is going to be pretty hard to improve the job Hartley has done with the young Flames. Hartley deserves an extension. The only question is whether he wants it knowing what the coaching market could look like come July?

With the hiring of Treliving I'd have hoped the worry of cronyism by Burke would have subsided.
